I say she should go for it. But leave a trail to follow, like flares or coloured pebbles or string or something. So she can see the path she has taken, and knows where to go. Also, she should bring Pistols. And maybe a sword.

Or bread crumbs!

When I read this journal entry, I couldn't help but picture Scarlett wandering through the woods wearing an aluminum foil hat to ward off the mind-altering energy rays that the government was beaming at her. Very Happy

I was tempted to mention breadcrumbs, but those pesky mind altering birds that guard Viendenbourg might eat them.

Oooooh, months upon months of griping, and now we can get Scarlett killed off, it's cold feet all round! Cowards Smile

In seriousness though, I think we should send her off. My reasoning is that if she doesn't go, then she'll just sit around painting her nails or something, but if she does go, then something exciting will happen! Do you see?

As GuyP says we should send her in or nothing interesting will happen yet. But if she goes in gets all bamboozled and then killed, how will we know? Do we really trust this key modification? Is there any way her key can be configured to send messages to whatever she uses to write her blog, so we could keep in contact? Maybe we could ask Kurt if it's possible to set up a key for IRC between Earth and Perplex City?
Apologies if this idea has already been shot down, I've been concentrating on the cards and am way behind on this whole ARG thing.

I think that she should go in, but leave a message to kurt just before so that at least if she does get captured, she can be heroicly rescued from falling into the vat of confusion that is destined to doom her to imbalance for eternity, coz if I know my scooby doo, they won't do the sensible thing and just kill her straight away, but will monolog for practically forever before wiggling their hands in a puppet like motion in an attempt to catch her as she makes her daring escape, then violet and kurt storm in, make a plan, it all goes horribly wrong and everyone stumbles into a pile-on on top of the villains, scarlett explains everything and pulls on their faces, realises they aren't really wearing masks but naturally have hideous monster faces, and then of course the villain says his/her famous phrase, everyone laughs at a terrible pun and credits roll with about 50 hidden messages, including some in the music, then all of the kids leave the room as the news begins to describe the heroic capture of the 3p operative working in perplex city, sente kiteway, who woulda thunk it.

hey, just realised that was all one sentence, whoops.

Of course she should go!

Agreed! What's the likelihood of her being killed - she's one of our main characters. Unless its going to go all Alien on our asses... nope, still think we should tell her to go! She might even end up on Earth.

The only problem I see is that whatever happens Violet might be a little annoyed if she finds out we knew - even more than we thought she might be about Scarlett getting hurt (and think how much arguement there was about that!).

I was thinking much the same thing.

Perhaps she could make her key send her coordinates (I presume they have something GPSish embedded in them) to her blog every hour. At least we'd have a clue where to send people if she stopped transmitting all of the sudden.

I think that would be a good idea, but I also don't think that MC would be willing to make a new map every hour just coz we want to be careful.

True enough. Perhaps we could just request coordinates in a text format someone from Perplex City would be able to use?

Probably unlikely anyway since we tend to just get weekly summaries right now. Just getting updates daily would be a big improvement Smile

Oh, and I've never been one of those who expected/secretly hoped for Scarlett's untimely demise. Even so I still think if she wants to go we shouldn't stop her. We should definitely encourage her to take some extra precautions this time though.

It's around the ear at some point, NOT in the ear, can't quite remember what its called. The other part is on the forehead at some point (trial and error).

You may get slightly dizzy if ur unlucky (5%), but otherwise u just feel ur head tilt to one side slightly...doesn't work for all people btw, as I'm finding.
