But, to the bad guys! That's so him threatening the bad guys, telling them what's going to happen and what he's going to do. He's not really trying to convince them of anything much. Anyway, that vs. "Zion, HEAR ME!"? Morpheus would so take Neo in a preach-off.

Although I'll grant you his priest outfit. Mr. Green

OMG it's just a leather...

...or vinyl...

version of Mal's coat. 'Cause it's a western.

Okay. Yeah. Nevermind. There is something vaguely ecclesiastical about it.

Are we basing it off of Serenity or Firefly? Or both?

I'd say,
Kid: Kaylee
Killer: Jayne
Sheriff: Mal/Zoe
Preacher: Book
Drunk: River
Half-Breed: Wash
Gambler: Simon
Banker: Inara

I'm not sure I like all of those, but that's my best fit. River, the drunk because she's not really in control of her senses all the time. I listed Wash as the Half-breed because he doesn't seem to fit quite right. He's outside the Zoe/Mal circle, and always looking in.

Yeah, I'm not sure this works with Firefly, because you only really have that core group of characters to play with, and it's hard and stretchy to force them into these categories. Maybe if the show had gone on longer, given us more auxiliary people to work with.

Ok, how about this?

Kid: Connor
Killer: Illyria
Sheriff: Holtz, perhaps? He was twisted and insane, but still. So was Mcpherson, after all.
Preacher: Cordelia (I know how weird that sounds, but, y'know, she did like to lecture people, and she had that saintly thing going on for a while.)
Drunk: Wesley
Half-Breed: Angel
Gambler: Gunn (what with the upgrades and betting on the goodwill of Wolfram and Hart, and even on Angel in the first place)
Banker: ?

I almost want to switch the places of Angel: Killer and Illyria: Half-Breed. Hmm.

Kid: River, Wash
Killer: Jayne
Sheriff: Mal is one, but most of them are from the alliance
Preacher: Book
Drunk: Kaylee
Half-Breed: Zoe
Gambler: Simon
Banker: Inara is kinda, but most of them are from the alliance (badger, constance...whoever bankrolls them)

My reasoning on Kaylee for the drunk is that her character was cast as one who enjoys life without inhibitions. In the DVD features, the actress mentioned that she had to gain 20 lbs for the role. Bethling's avatar is a screeny of her enjoying food on what appears to be a spiritual level. She is the high-on-life character.

Half-breed is sorta tough, but we actually know who River's parents are. Lots of folks could end up as the half breed, but not really river or simon. I heard somewhere that Zoe was born on a ship, but we have little of her past and she has no real home (perhaps everyone else was born on Earth-that-was?).

One other thing is that River is the youngest and for most of the story has been the one needing protection. She has an innocence to her, which is what is supposed to make it so bad what all the Alliance did to her.

(scent, sent)

I'd call Mal all the above. He pretty much covers them all in one or another (because he's Screwy )
