photo of LA chips

Stream of photos from the LA event begins here with a photo of the chips...

(actually, there are more photos which preceed that point, of the Hat Tour and other fun activities)

Hollywood Forever, Los Angeles
November 19th

Your friends at Hollywood Forever Cemetery have a special mission today, a mission that starts immediately after the Tombstone Hold 'Em winners have been crowned.

When it's time to pick up their marching orders, tell your friends to head to the very center of the whole cemetery. Since they're taking a journey today, I've left them something near a signpost for the most epic journey ever taken.

In the brush and leaves underneath the sign, I've left them a holster full of instructions. Stick around—if your friends aren't handy with orienteering, you can be their compass. And they might need help deciphering a few clues.

At the end of it all, I'm going to swing your friends some Frequency Modulation. They'll want your help finding the sweet spot on the dial. So when the time comes, let them know I've dealt 'em a nine, an ace, and another nine.

If you friends get the final task right, it'll be time to for an old man to cash out of the game.

Thanks for playing these last few hands with me. I won't forget the favor.

Your friends at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles have done me one more favor. 2 minutes to the very Last Call.

They're listening to Lucky's final radio broadcast now (91.9FM)... and Lucy is there!

(meanwhile, the website is offline...)

Does the video contain Lucky's final message? It's taking an awfully long time (I've had it on an hour) in loading, and I can't find a transcript in the forums.

It does, and with Lucy listening in as a bonus.

I tried. It is, of course, punctuated as if I had written it. Ask AmberJoy about that one.
Lucky wrote:
So here you are, at the end of the game. Last chips counted, last cards played. Last. Call. You went through a lot of work. You put in a lot of hours, and days, and weeks, to help a dead guy and his niece get out of a bad beat. All her life, she felt like a stranger, alone, a girl with no friends. You changed all that. She may not show it on the outside, but take it from another black sheep: she will never get over seeing you here, discovering how much you have done for her, without thanks or hope of reward. Lucy and me, we play pretty tight with our hearts. You changed that. With all the trouble I left behind me in the world, I couldn't let a little thing like death push me from the table. So I made you pick up my cards and back up my bets. And you played like champions, and freed Kerry from the curse of The Gun, and left The Gun itself broken on the floor, like the promises of faithless men. Thanks to you, my Lucy is safe. And now, for the first time, I can feel how sweet it would be to put down my cards, push back from the table, and look up to the light. Last. Call. Thanks to you, I'm finally ready to beat The Devil. Thanks to you, I'm ready to go all in.

Many edits later: It's complete! Woo! Thanks, jsailor and Moemar!

If you need another mirror of the original file or a smaller version (the original is a 111MB MPG1 file and my recode is a 39M DivX at a slightly lower quality), I have both up at:

Just in case anyone wants it, I'm attaching my recorded audio from Saturday. Reception wasn't too great, so there's a fair amount of static, even after I did a (very) rough job of cleaning it up. I'll probably try to do a decent job some time when I'm not quite as tired.

Oh, and there's about a half second of nothing in the middle, but with the transcript you can fill in the blank.

Cu Roi instead of Kuroy (he is Ourobouros here)
hmrpita instead of HMRpite(r)
(I can't remember her name!) is Caitlyn
Moemar instead of Moomar
and the one where you're not sure if it's Sean - it is.

Looking now, I was apparently just lazy/rushed about getting the photos up. At least with spelling hmrpita, I knew that one.
