[New] www.joincarts.org

The orbiconcorp.com website has appearntly been hacked by an anti-space elevator group. It now includes a link to the Coalition Against Road To the Stars website.

Why is it that they never include "the" in an ancronym?

[EDIT] Added link to this post, for eeseeness Wink --Gisk

The pictures are funny cuz they're so OBVIOUSLY photoshopped!

Anywho acronyms are always weird, sometimes they include "the" "of" "is" "as", sometimes they dont such as RSPCC (Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruetly to Animals), I'm not sure why CARTS decided to use "To" as one of their acronym letters.

I think it's just a matter of practicality most of the time... CARTS is much easier and prettier than CARTTS, and RSPCC is much shorter and thus more convenient than RSOTPOCTA i guess...

Btw, there's a link to subscribe to the CARTS-newsletter, I wonder what fun events they might anounce Smile

I already signed onto the mailing list, but still waiting for my confirmation. I applied before my last post.

Well, if they didn't use the To, then they would be CARS and then when you say "Would you like to go to the CARS rally?" you'd end up with a bunch of NASCAR fans wondering why there isn't a race going on. Very Happy

Well, it looks like the Name that Rock competition was to name an actual rock after all:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
[Orbicon] had somehow secretly "corralled" an asteroid as it approached earth.

This may have also been eluded to in the puzzle for newsletter #3:

3: Always look for ward
4: Show your true heart
5: Elevate your self
6: Ignite your passion
7: Overcome obstacles
8: Reclaim you

Something that I noticed, which may interest only me.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take the first letter of each phrase, rearrage them. You get "asteroid". Does it mean anything? Not that I can tell, at least.

I'm going to send an email to johnathan.reinhardtSPLATorbiconcorp.com (their Director of Information Systems) to let them know their site has been comprimised and see what happens. (Should I use my real name?)

Anyone send a submission to the Flyers? I think I scratch one out and send it in and see what happens.

Just signed up for the CARTS newsletter using my new assumed name "John Spartan" (a play on my avatar, and also the name of Stalones character in "Demolition Man" Laughing). Got the usual "confirm your subscription" and "welcome to our newsletter" messages, but we'll see what else comes in.

I got the confirmation email immediately. Check your spam folder. If it's not there, try again I suppose.

Nigel the One Eared Wonder Weasel has joined the CARTS movement. His flyer was accepted onto the members page. And yes, he does have two ears in this picture as it was taken before the "Incident".

Very Happy

[TRIVIA] About the flyers

Speaking of the flyers, I blew 2 of them up. The 2nd from the left has 3 figures in the background. I tried rendering something from it, but got nothing more than is already there. The 4th from the left has a red sticker on part of it that says LunOx or Lun0x. Probably means nothing, but maybe it will strike a chord with someone.
