I was talking primarily gameplay wise. The clips that you can share can be no longer then 30 seconds and the online rivalries are tracked but personally I just don't view those as very big though. I'm odd like that.

Yeah after hearing that on Gampspot I was all like, "wtf that would be uber annoying!" So I'm happy that they took it out.

Also everyone make sure you reread my post above vortech's if you have already, I've been going to random electronics sites and found a few new places that are going to be selling 360s. Like one in the past hour and a half, it's New Egg. I just saved you 10 seconds of your life but if you want the URL you need to check my other post. After today I won't keep randomly updating it.

Anyone with a 360 will like this, Verizon is having a giveaway where, if you enter before they're out you can get some free Microsoft Points. I can't remember off the top of my head how many each person can get. The limit is one gift, however many points that is, per gamertag/email/person. So if you have more then one account feel free to get allot of points for free. Syst will like this one, they're also having a PGR3 tournament where the top 64 players will be flown to Italy where the finals of the tournament will be held. You'll also be able to go on a tour of the Lamborghini headquarters.

So seeing as how the 360 is supposedly all kinds of fancypants, I assume Halo 2 runs on it just fine? Have the MC's pants been in any way fancified?

Like, no more texture loading lag or anything like that?

It's got pluses and minuses. Pluses would be the increased resolution (if you have an HDTV), the better controller (I rather like using the shoulder buttons instead of the black/white buttons) and oddly smoother framerate at times. Minuses would be the very long first load time (I think the first time you play an Xbox game on a 360 it takes a minute to set something up on the hard drive, and occasionally it does it over again for an unknown reason), the slight distortion of voice chat (both in and out from what I understand) and the slightly lower framerate during high-complexity scenes (lots of plasma grenades going off, etc.) Pop-in is still there, although I think it does draw in much faster then normal. Loading is possibly somewhat faster due to the faster DVD-ROM, although it never really took that long to load on an original Xbox anyway. Lastly, although this isn't technically a problem with Halo, I find it slightly annoying how the Guide is completely unavailable during Xbox 1 gameplay - you can't even see the battery charge on a wireless controller, which makes no sense to me, and it would be nice to bring up your friends list in non-live games (which I can't see why it wouldn't be possible...)

The higher resolution is really nice, and overall I'd take my 360 over my original Xbox (warts and all) any day, but there are just enough little niggling annoyances and glitches that they do have to be mentioned.

Pop-in is still there but it clears very quickly for me.

My only complaints are:

Failing to load maps (disc and HDD) for no reason; quick fix = exiting to the dashboard though

And on Backwash, if anyone picks up camo, and I am within 30 feet of them or looking in their direction, my framerate plummets to single digits. Must be something with the atomspheric effects and the camo rendering. =/

I have the same problem with the camo and my maps take a year to load from the Disc but not from the HDD, and it isn't because of the disc because I had it resurfaced and D-Skinned since then. Also, very rarely might I add, there's a glitch that makes it look like a random map has burnt into your screen which goes away after you restart or go to the dashboard. For example if you're on Coagulation at a random point in the game, for no reason, Battle Creek, Backwash, etc. will pop up on your screen and it'll look like they're burnt in.

Sorry to double post but EB Games and Gamestop
are now selling 360, this isn't going to be your last chance, if you don't want bundles you can wait until March 31 or April 7 2009... I mean 2006.


Edit: Wow they are still selling 360s, as of 9:40pm PDT, they sure as hell stockpiled enough of them.
