The answer is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
6 6 & 1. The card indictes she has a youngest child so it can't be 2 2 & 9.
Also look at card #024 Double Vision. It shows Anna's family. Two older kids and a baby.

Its a long time since I did this one so I can't remember how you enter the solve Smile [/spoiler]

This is a well-known puzzle....

See this website for the actual reasoning on how this is solved. You actually don't need to know that Anna has twin boys so card #024 is not needed to solve this puzzle.

I think this was just a bit of spec, but hey, it worked !! Very Happy

Actually, you do need to know that, and card 024 is needed, because the puzzle mentions Anna's "youngest daughter", not "youngest child" as Grizy claims. As Telumehtar correctly pointed out on the first page, the twins could be a boy and a girl, so there are two possible answers to the puzzle.

The puzzle on the BrainFood site also mentions a "youngest child", which is different information.

However, MC has posted a correction to the card which states "Her youngest child has blue eyes", which allows one to solve the puzzle with only information given on the card.

This problem is poor. Please give time to calculate the product and sums of these sets of ages.

1,2and 18
0.5, 4.5 and 16

The answer to the problem is that the ages of the three children CANNOT be determined.
My child was given this problem and she is 12 years old. If teachers can't get it right I feel sorry for the kids.
