[Update]-FAQ page

What do the wave numbers mean? What's 'Pre-release Limited Edition Wave 0.5' all about?

The 256 cards that will make up the first season of Perplex City are being released in four separate waves. The first wave of 66 cards was released in July 2005, and the second wave of 66 was released in November 2005. Two further waves of 62 cards each will be released in 2006.

Our first print run of cards consisted of the first two waves. All of these cards were printed with 'Pre-release Limited Edition Wave 0.5' on them. All future cards that we print (including reprints of waves 1 and 2) will be clearly marked with their actual wave number (e.g. 'Wave 1 Season 1). We will not be printing any more 'Pre-release' cards.

When will the next wave of cards be released?

The next wave of 62 cards will be released in early 2006. We're sorry you'll have to wait a while, but our puzzle scribes are trying extra hard to make sure you've got great puzzles to solve (Tippy most certainly will have to cut back on her partying).

hope this clears lots up, I know it did for me!

So we could potentially be looking at an ARG that'll last a few years?!?!?!?!?

I sure hope so, PXC is a damn good reason to not work on my coursework.... Rolling Eyes

Well, at CubeFest, Michael Smith shared his thoughts on this one...prompted by a question from our own dear Snowball (Where are ya Snow?) about whether, when we finally found the Cube, whether we'd suddenly find that someone in PerplexCity had "misplaced a pyramid".

Apparently, the general plan is to establish a puzzle "brand", which will then progress over time, so in essence, "the everlasting ARG" isn't too far from the truth (maybe)
