#58 - Orange - Breaking and Entering Not sure how to scan in so that the file isn't too big so I'll just post the text on the card.
I'VE ALWAYS HAD A FASCINATION WITH EARTH SECURITY Garnet
Take this lock for instance: a three dial combination lock with each dial labelled A, B, C, D and E. Locks of this type are used a lot on earth, but given that it only takes me 10 seconds to tray a combination, how long would it take me to guarantee cracking the code and breaking in?

hendo, you can edit your posts. so scan, make it a reasonable size and post. and if it is still too big, take it down and resize again until it gets down to the size and resolution mind candy won't complain about.

I'm sure there's a formula to make this a lot easier, but I worked it out the long way. Well, 1/5 of it, anyway.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
AAA-AEE = 25 tries. And there are 4 more sequences (BAA-BEE through EAA-EEE) to try, making the total number of tries 125 (assuming he has *really* bad luck).
125 (tries) x 10 (secs) = 1,250 secs or 20 mins 50 secs
Am I right?
**edited to correct the easiest part... Converting decimal to mins and secs... Sheesh!**
And, this was brought to my attention:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The lock is already on a combination, so eliminate that one, making it 20 mins 40 secs. I'd rather begin with AAA, but we'll have to see what MC wants. Also, will they wants mins and secs, or just secs? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

These types of numbers appear on a large number of wave 4 cards and are being discussed here

oh yeah, the quick way was
5 (the number of dials) to the power 3 (the number of numbers on each dial)
then the answer times by 10 seconds
= 1250

My card states there are 3 dials. (also the above scan does too.)

Hey guys!
I'm a newbie here but am loving Perplexcity. I just thought i'd bring something to your attention...
On my breaking and entering card, the number of perplexcity points printed in the top-right corner is wrong. instead of being 60 and 15, like the other orange pixel cards, my card says 64 and 16, although when i actually entered the code and the answer i still only got the standard 15 points.
Do you reckon this is a simple print fault (similar to some people who get no code printed under the scratch-off panel) or maybe something more intruiging??
