#043-orange-hex set-use your anterior cingulate

As quickly as you can, read the following list saying aloud the colours that you see rather than the word that's spelled out.
RED YELLOW BLUE GREEN PURPLE BLUE PURPLE RED YELLOW GREEN YELLOW BLUE PURPLE GREEN RED GREEN RED PURPLE YELLOW BLUE

This test takes advantage of our ability to read words more quickly and automatically than we can name colours. There aren't many tests in which children who can't yet read outperform adults but this is one of them.

This unusual test is named after the psychologist who discovered the phenomenon in the 1930s.

WHAT WAS HIS NAME?

no da

(edit: added spaces between coloured words to stop display going wonky.)
