i've just sent this to the brotherhood of the six....following kurts blog http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13330

Quote:
dear april, greetings from earth. we are all very excited that we can finally communicate with the brotherhood....i find your way of life very interesting and youe belief system to be very misunderstood, i would love to learn more.

i was also wondering if you could help me? i am currently researching similarities and differances between our two worlds and my current focus is on ceremonies.

one such ceremonie we have heard of but know little about is called "The Kindling Of The Flame" and this is most interesting as we on earth have many ceremonies based around fire.

any information you could give about it, for example what it symbolises, what takes place and on what date? i would be most grateful.

many thanks

just noticed that http://www.brotherhoodofthesix.com/schedule.html still has the autum schedule up....prehaps this will be changing in the next week to a winter schedule?

also i'm thinking that if gillet road is in PC we should start to think about who we could ask to go visit.....this may be dangerous and we dont want anyone useful being killed! Laughing

I think we should drag Sylvia Salk into this! Expendable, has a vested interest, and I don't like her.

Brilliant - I couldn't agree more!

That's last year's schedule, I wouldn't expect any updates anytime soon. Unless all these emails they're getting about weird ceremonies will prod them into changing it. Perhaps we should mention the fact that it would be nice for them to make their site a little readable.

Poor thing! How many times would you like to try and get her killed? My vote, if we could actually contact him, would be Garnet since he'd presumably be able to not die. Granted, he'd blow our cover immediately, but we've already got one person brutally murdered, I'd prefer not to have the blood of another on our hands.

Is there any real option other than Kurt? I'm never really of the opinion that it should be Violet and our other mostly expendable girl is already off on a very dangerous trip from which she's not likely to return.

Well.. we could ask Sente I suppose, he certainly owes us some help. But I don't really trust the guy that much...
Violet is not an option for me, I don't trust her further than I can throw her. Disappearing blog entries, being sick the night the Cube was stolen, signing her e-mails with V. .... and other stuff.
So I guess Kurt is the only safe option imho.

Nope. Kurt is the one for this task. Especially as he is getting slightly suspicious with all the emails...

Yeah, I think Kurt will be the most suitable person for this job, especially since he's becoming suspicious of everything. However, as he is a valuble contact, and we don't really want to get him killed off, maybe we can decide on an emergency situation plan, like we can alert the PXC medical services as soon as we get a hint that somethings gone wrong?? If we do decide to get Kurt to go, then maybe we should ask him to set up an emergency alert message on his key, which will send out a distress email to us or the medical services??

Like a dead man's handle, if he doesn't do something on his key every couple of minutes it screams out an alert..... I like it!

Sundown could point at the 10pm time but a weke on from that is new years eve.

Wouldn't a week later actually be on January 1, New Year's Day (cue U2) at 10 PM?

Yeah... oops

Just noticed this has gone up on the Sentinel website.

Mild Winter May Delay Kindling
The Brotherhood of the Six has warned that this year's late winter will likely delay the annual Kindling of the Flame. Meterologists have widely predicted this winter will be warm and dry, a pleasant change after heavy rains in the spring. (Full text)

That explains a lot...

Just to add my 2c

I've listened to the CD now, and I'm kinda suspicious about the message that appears at the end.

the 3P are an amazingly tricksy bunch and I'm concerned that the whole point of the message is to lure us into sending someone to the subway station and revealing one of our PXC sources. That means if we do send someone we can't send Kurt or Violet because by association they would probably reveal all our sources at once!

The track is really obvious, and probably serves as a red-herring to hide the true 3P message - That their email is compromised.

Maybe they thought we would all go OMG! Helena Frye is teh 3P! *run around in a panic*. Of course we are smarter and aren't going to fall for that sort of thing again Smile

I disagree. I think we should send Kurt. Even if it is a Third Power trap, the fact that a person on the cube-retrieval team at the academy may be helping people find the cube is hardly a big shocker now is it? Also, if they wanted to kill our contact, Mind Candy can hardly kill off one of the puzzle designers, it would mess up the entire card thing!
If it's a trap, we should spring it anyway, purely to advance the story.
But I don't think it is a trap.

Agreed, and I would also like to add that we could simply tell our operative now to go there a week after the ceremony, instead of asking daily whether it has snowed yet, that could get a bit suspicious.
