Just checked and still nothing back from Violet regarding the format of the text that they would need submitting. This was the first time I've ever e-mailed an in-game character so not sure of expected turn around times for responses? Has anyone had experience of this kind of thing in the past?

Would you guys be interested if I compiled a set of rules for various Earth games for the book?
If you were to explain cricket in less than a page I would be well interedsted
Don't expect ingame characters to email you though-it's rare.

OK, to keep everyone up to speed with where we stand. The word count we are looking for is about 45,000.
Quote:
The minimum length of our manuscripts is 40-50,000 words; roughly the length of a short book.
We currently stand at just over 9,000, so there's a lot more to be done. So get writing and get your games themed story onto the Wiki or to tales.from.earthsplat gmail.com...
(Also, perhaps we should ask Violet to contribute as she is always claiming an interest in language and words? Perhaps a piece on the Perplex City Games would be informative for all involved?)

I've done a first draft of my article here .
Feel free to leave me comments or feedback. I'd like to expand it if I get time.
And if you spot any typos, spelling mistakes, or bits that could be worded better, please edit the article directly. I'm crap at proof-reading my own work and I won't be offended by people editing it.

Ok, we are now up to just over 17,500 words!
Many thanks for everyone that has contributed so far. However, we are still less that halfway to the total we are looking for, so if anyone has an idea for a story then please feel free to contribute. We are ideally looking for pieces that are at a minimum 1000 words long, but will greatfully receive any submissions sent to us, either via the Wiki or to tales.from.earthsplat gmail.com
Cheers

Well ive dug out one of my many pieces of Noncidical verbage and I will probobly make this into a full story. Time it takes to write depends on how many nights I have to look after my cousain though (The evil one). Now ive got the brilliant task of making something completely off topic to do with games. Woo!

I've just added my effort to the Wiki. So you can chalk up another 1242 words
Story is here if anyone fancies a read. I imagine one might find a typo or two. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Well, my other entry is in nicely; hope that's enough of a game for you.
But, like I said, I need somebody to help me proofread the code I have.
So, pretty pretty please, somebody PM me if you don't care about getting the answer and decoding method.

I am currently writing a bit of an essay for the book on the difference in how perplex city and earth view games entitled "Brains or Brawn:Which is Better?". That will probably end up being about 1500 words.

Cool!! Actually, the more articles we can get that link Earth and Perplex City the more likely it will be for Seaside Press to take on the manuscript. (Saying that, the hunger for Earth in the city is such that I'm sure they'd take any old tat!. Not that we will allow that to happen as we will be editing the book into a masterwork.)

Its complete! You can find it at: http://wiki.incognitus.net/ppc/index.php/Tales_From_Earth:Moonbeam
Its a rewrite of an old chronicles I once wrote and did nothing with. If people like it, I might rewrit the others too. Any feedback would be nice.
Cron.
