And don't forget swarbling--climbing straight trees with no branches to aid the ascent!

I like my idea to slowly twist the story into the crazed ramblings of the clinically insane... Just you wait... Muhahahahaha [demonic laughter ad lib]

If it is madness you are looking for, here is the premise for another book (or at least a chapter or two Laughing).

...Her shoulder pain was caused by her mother's pelvis being too narrow to allow her weak and tiny body to properly pass through the vaginal cavity in order to be born. The solution? They used forceps to push the pelvic bones apart in an heroic effort to save the baby. Success! At least to a degree. For her shoulder now only has a mild ache to it every now and then. The scars and injuries on the baby's 33-year-old body are all signs of the struggle she faced in the womb. Scars which will heal in time to leave A Perfect Baby.

That's the working title of this escapade, along with Everybody's Baby [a miracle of birth and something to treasure. "A story every living creature on the surface of the planets needs to experience for themselves!"]
It's a story with everybody in it, that will touch the heartstrings and the tickle the funnybones of whomever comes into contact with it.

In a story more obfuscated than Tarantino could ever envisage in his worst nightmares, we have a story of a woman who may be clinically insane, is definitely taking drugs and has quite a vivid imagination.... or are we???

Because of the drugs drawing the main character into the events shown on her television screen, the story effectively covers the whole of human history, linking us nicely into an episode of Timecop involving a guy with a pocket watch who keeps appearing throughout time, yet not seeming to cause any damage. Who is he? Is he the PREincarnation of our lead character? Is he related to this story at all? In a move not seen since The Last Action Hero, everything is up for grabs.

The clues and the spiral turns spin things toward the dna construct of the story of Life:

The story of a man, who in one life, more than 2000 years ago was spurned and destroyed by those he tried to save. Who was reborn over 2000 years later (now) into the body of a female from whom such a message of peace would be more readily accepted.
The process of this amazing transfiguration from male to female began 33-and-a-bit years ago when our heroine, was born to apparently human parents (although she had no knowledge of that particular fact, herself). The twist? she was a boy. Yep, that's right... A boy. Dingly dangly bits rattling around between her legs like nobody's business.
But as she grows up - surprisingly doing surprisingly well at typically stereotypical boys things such as electronics, physics, computers, mechanics, cold fusion and indeed even burglary and a few instances of bullying and certainly many angry tantrums, she realises she should actually have been a girl!
She stumbles at first as all new born girls are wont to do. She feels like the Ugly Duckling and everybody points and stares at her as she goes through the tremendously difficult process of transition but there are those who can see what she is destined to become and are expectant...

She is a sad girl, because she doesn't know that there is something special in store for her. What with all the people who used to make fun of her, she has become paranoid that she really is this weird, ugly, god-forsaken creature that they all claim her to be - evil... outcast... unclean!

The mega-twist? - she is actually an egg inside a woman, soon to be born. The memories of her mother are the matriarchal dna memories of the physical mother's life (a bit like Paul Atreides' daughter child in Dune - but without the mother's death this time around, preferably). The reason the original 'mother' had died at 33 of cancer is representative of the super-dramatic situation of the pregnancy which has loads of people rushing around to check up on it and the fact the mother is CURRENTLY that age so can't pass any newer memories down the dna chain. [It also ties nicely into the standard belief that Christ dies around that age himself after being stabbed with a spear during a crucifixion]).

The reason why people in this universe see their whole life flash before their eyes in a near-death experience is because they are actually having a near-life experience. They were almost selected to become a new character in the hilarious comedy action gameshow with plenty of drama and tension that we know as... Life! The memories they experienced are the matriarchal dna memories - the so-called gene-memory passed down from generation to generation and interpreted by each character differently.
Who will be born with the knowledge to change the world, born with a story to tell - a miracle child, a child of God following in her parent's footsteps?
A story of intrigue, a story of prophesy, a story of possessions and a story of being freed from the NEED of such things to lead a more spiritual life.
This epitome of hyperbole comes together in a single wanton desire to be heard from the back of a crowded room, screaming in agony, pleading to be listened to, to be saved, to be rescued from the crush of people that stopped it from sticking to the side of the advertising hoarding in the first place.
This truly is... the story of a lifetime.

Quotes to deploy:
A moment of reflection, an offered drink
There was another moment's silence followed by two shots... two more bodies to be put into the fire
These are all clues... but to what?

The truth is found in visions of death
Everyone was killing each other and then themselves
There was no sense to it
We all did it... almost all
Everyone died that day
Everyone except me
They went mad, there was no stopping them

Wheels of time cycle as the year nears it's end. Things shift to become something else.
Something new and wonderful. It is the spiral of time.
Akin to a concerto, it flows down the road it is laid upon

Last time it was the Palestinians against the Jews at Bethlehem
This time it was the Germans against the Russians
We are our fathers enemies
The words have a power - the ability to change the world.
You who are reading this; there is a journey that you must take.
One step at a time

Random notes:
Millions of eggs attached to each ovary and millions of people - hmmmmm, co-incidence or plot device? Wink
Signs on videos, heck - the film Signs says it all (and The Omen). Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon influencing the hyperbole to launch the story with.

What our arbitarily chosen yet slightly inebriated critic said earlier today:
Watch is something you just have to do when the film comes out and 'watch' was apparently the seventh keyword in Purple City (but could, quite possibly, maybe have just been a ploy by a small, half-blind, clawed, furry mud-digging creature) - everything and everyone is coming together to make this vision a reality.

great stuff!! Chrononberg meets EraserHead!

I'm thinking even more about the psychological insights provided by this exercise. Its like group therapy! Now someone needs to write profiles of players based on what they have written Wink - there must be a few psychologists in our player base...

I think it would be amusing if Juxta were to write Oliver's profile.

I broke the rule. But we've had nothing since Monday and it needs a kick up the arse...changed the scenery, ditched everything, but Georgina (i guess all she needs to do now is find out what's happening to her) and added us as a bunch of roman weirdo's, spouting a cacophony of pig latin...we need more words!

Has anyone even considered whether violet will even agree to put this in the book, also it has a hell of a lot of humour that only earthlings (and von) will understand.

I'll just run around the town screaming from madness now, might help air out me lungs.

no da

It's an excellent insight into the collective conciousness of the cube retrieval team...let's hope it's banned in PPC for being subversive! Maybe in a Viard way (impenetrable and long winded? Razz ). We'll sell a million!

I'd almost be disappointed now if it wasn't banned in Perplex City, if only on grounds of taste and terrible continuity.

I'm hoping (praying!) that Violet would do some editing herself before publication, once we've submitted the messy beast of a story to her. I'm sure none of us co-authors would mind if she tidied it up a bit, made it a bit easier to read... although theres only so much she could do

Oh, and remember it's Art - "experimental literature" - and full of pschological insights too (cross dressing seems to be a recurring theme)

Can we look at getting it all wrapped up into some cohesive conclusion so we can edit it into one piece and add it to the book? (I think with it's own introduction to explain the madness that followed? Very Happy )

If nothing else, it should help get the word count up to nearer the required 45,000 mark...

Can I just say how very proud I am of being a small part of the fully edited collaborative story. It's a beautiful and profound sump of shi*e. Can I also thank the editors who didn't, as any good editor would normally have to do when submitted such work, rip it up and send it back, but merely trim cack that dripped from the more sodden edges.

thank you Smile now...where's nursey with my pills? Drool
