So what's the cover look like right now?

The cover hasn't changed because Ellen hasn't given me any specifics. I don't know the dimensions, I don't know the image resolution, I don't know if it's just a pic on the front or a wraparound cover--I don't know anything specific that I need to know to complete the work, so I haven't done anything else. It would be essentially pointless to do so, at worst necessitating a complete overhaul to match the specs if I do it wrong. I'll ask her again for something more specific now that she's seen a draft of the manuscript; I'm sure the printers can give her rough estimates.

So, what's the title we're going with? And does anyone have any suggestions for changes, so that I can get 'em done quick when Ellen gets back to me with the info I need?

My vote is that we stick to "Tales From The Third Planet" as the title of the book.

I'm slightly confused by this whole word count thing as the word count doesn't actually have that much effect on the size of a book. Size is also dependent on font sizes and styles, line spacing, on how much white space is used and when sections breaks are added and so on...

We can say with some certainty that the book will not be over 60,000 words and I think we are aiming for more within the 45,000 to 55,000 range (which is what I emailed to Ellen) even if this means editing down some pieces to meet this.

Wow, I'm definitely diggin' all the covers that have been dished out so far, especially the "Terra Icognita" one. Absolutely beautiful work! <Sigh>
You know it's pitiful when you're browsing the forums attempting to jump into the game, and all you can do is comment on the craftsmanship of some people on a book's cover art, eh? Regardless, absolutely great work there, all of you. I can't wait to see what all this turns out to be.
