[Update] Quirky Acuity - 14th December

Sigh. No luck with the new Junior Librarians, I'm afraid. Neither of them is sufficiently senior to be able to help me when I look at the Granier diary. Which means that I'm stuck going through Cymbalisty, my boss. He'll take a page out of the museum every night, we'll look at it together, I'll transcribe it and post it up here for you guys to have a look at. I have to say, nights-with-Cymbalisty aside I'm excited about the whole thing; no real work has been done on this manuscript yet, so we'll be the first to examine it properly.

On the subject of the new juniors, though, they do seem to be settling in rather well. In fact, I think Cymbalisty has taken quite a shine to Miranda. He's been talking to her more than he talks to me (which is quite a relief, to be honest), and I've noticed him popping a Ceretin a couple of times before he goes over to her desk to talk to her. I guess she's good-looking if you like that whole fluffy-hair, cute little nose look. Kurt certainly seems taken by her. They're going out to a PCAG event together tonight. I know I should be supportive but, really, I can't see it working out. She's just a bit too giggly-girly for him. Still, I guess you never know.

The other thing is that Kurt taking Miranda out leaves the field clear for me to try getting a little closer to Jason. He seems very calm and level-headed, kind of quiet but with the occasional flash of humour. He's also been very helpful with the manuscript stuff. Even though he's not qualified enough to help out with supervising me when I examine it, he was really interested when I asked for his help. He's asked about it quite a few times, and had found me some good reference material on understanding slang terms from that period, which should be helpful. Also, he's sort of dark and handsome. Hmmm... maybe if the Kurt/Miranda thing does work out, we could double-date.

So they found two operatives that were perfectly appealing to the two librarians? Or was Kurt the target for Miranda after all?

If it's a trap, it's not a very good one. I mean, they can't even help Violet out. Not everything is a trap, you're just getting paranoid from this Perplex city business!
Anyhoo, there's not much we can do anyway. We could warn Violet, but without proof or something, she'll just think we're silly.

Of course, they could just be the front-runners for the actual trap. Remember what happened with the 3P meetup (recedaresorts.com and all that) and how we got stung there?

We need to be careful . . .

Aye, that be true, Admiral. Ackbar...

Of course, I definitely would not go and try to utilize "fresh faces" this far in the progress of getting that book; as it was said, "Better the devil you know...".

Of course, now nobody on the CRT is gonna remember this girlfriend of Kurt's.

I'd keep my eye on that Miranda... *coughharlotcough* Mad

Miranda the harlot? What about Kurt and Violet who seem to be entirely hormonally motivated in everything they do! Do you think the extension of life-span in PXC has also meant a longer adolescence?

Extended compared to Earth? You mean....even longer than the sixty or so years it takes for the average person here to stop making most of their decisions based upon (when ultimately boiled down and laid bare) attraction, hormones and animal instinct?

Lawks. I'm going to the publishers of "Just Seventeen" and buying the Perplexian distribution rights right now,

Wink
