[UPDATE] Stevie's Blog 12-15-05 (beans and transform)

Stevie has updated her blog.

December 15th, 2005 - Thursday

Today the little bean plants pushed their heads above the dirt! They are so cute! Dr. Martha says that if they were outside they would turn to face the sun all day long. But since the sun doesn't rise or set inside the asteroid, they can't move. I asked Dr. Martha if it would hurt the plants to not move since Mommy says people get stiff muscles if they don't move. Dr. Martha didn't think the plants would be harmed by not moving, but she said it was natural for them to move when the light source moves. She wanted to set the garden up with a light source that would move from one side to the other, but Professor Bronco said it would cost too much to do it now. I think it makes Dr. Martha sad that she can't watch the plants transform during the day.

Do you like the word transform? I do. I looked it up on Dictionary.com which say this about the word:

trans·form Pronunciation Key (tr?ns-fôrm)
v. trans·formed, trans·form·ing, trans·forms
1. To change markedly the appearance or form of: "A thick, fibrous fog had transformed the trees into ghosts and the streetlights into soft, haloed moons" (David Michael Kaplan).
2. To change the nature, function, or condition of; convert. See Synonyms at convert.
3. Mathematics. To subject to a transformation.
4. Electricity. To subject to the action of a transformer.
5. Genetics. To subject (a cell) to transformation.

So I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and say that maybe we should start thinking about transforming something. Just a guess.

We have also seen references to station butterflys coming out of their chrysalis.
