Email to Dale re: Shadowtalk1

Dale:

I haven't emailed you before, but I'm one of the friends who has been helping you in your investigation of what happened to you. I think we've figured out some of what shadowtalk1 was referencing in his IMs. He kept repeating the phrase "gray weathers," which you said in chat the other night you thought you had heard before or read in a book at the library.

We got some IMs from shadowtalk today, and he dropped some hints, including the words "Hugh" "Green knight" and "gray weather". He also called some cell phones, saying Gray weathers. He also used the words "circles," "stones," "many," "grey eyes, and curly gold hair," "sender," "fretter." This led me to a book called "The Water of the Wondrous Isles" by William Morris. Could this be the book you read in the library? There's a page at http://www3.sympatico.ca/mdubroy/WATER_People.htm with some character descriptions and things which are exactly what he was saying. Some of the most pertinent:

Black Valley of the Greywethers: A valley leading into the mountains, dotted with grey great stones which look as if they were once in order. At the centre of the valley is a series of stone circles, focusing upon the King's Stone. Further information under Greywethers. The valley is reputedly the haunt of unmanlike creatures. Most are afraid to enter it. It leads to the haunts of wild men in the mountains. Also Black Valley and Valley of the Greywethers

Faery: Mythical beings having diminutive human forms and magical powers.

Green Knight: Hugh.

Green Mountains: Mountains to the south of the Castle of the Quest, seven days' ride therefrom, the land of Sir Hugh.

Greywethers: The stones in the Black Valley of the Greywethers, said to be giants turned to stone, who at times regain their life, most especially upon Midsummer Night. If a man waits their awakening and, in the first moment of their change, speaks his desire in these words, "O Earth, thou and thy first children [giants], I crave of you such and such a thing" (150), he may have his desire, providing that he speaks no further word, answers no questions, and refuses the bribes of gold and women he will be offered. If he fails in this, he becomes one of the Stony People; if he is steadfast throughout the night, he gains his desire and the bribes. Also Stony People and Stony Folk.

Hugh: A valiant young man, exceeding beauteous, with clear skin, grey eyes, and curly gold hair. The knight who loves Viridis. Fellow to Arthur and Baudoin in the Quest. Also Green Knight.

Sender: From the charm which activates the Sending Boat, the person who puts the Boat in motion.

Stone-fretter: A powerful giant sling used in the siege of the Red Hold.

Valley of the Greywethers: Black Valley of the Greywethers.

I especially think the part about making a wish in the Valley of the Greywethers seems too much to be a coincidence.

Also, shadowtalk sent us a link about Stonehenge and a recent discovery of bodies there. http://www.wessexarch.co.uk/press/eba_burials_21-05-03.html

Could he be indicating that Stonehenge is the same as the Valley of the Greywethers in the book? Or maybe those bodies indicate something? Or possibly drawing our attention to the standing-stone like configuration at ash grove park?

There's also a lot of references to a lake in the book, maybe indicating something of interest at or near the Lake of Tears?

He also quoted a little bit of latin at us, "nero thalassa ouranos keros" which translates to "water, sea, sky, weather", and then talked about some math stuff, most notably a series of digits from pi, an addition triangle, and something about Clifford algebras. He also said ES EX a bunch of times, perhaps in reference to essex or wessex?

We're not certain what shadowtalk1 is. Some of us theorized that he may be the HIP project, or CAROL files put online, from the way he seems to be learning off the web. But he also called some people, even though the voice seemed strange. I'm not at all certain he should be trusted.

I know I'm just throwing a lot of theories out here, but I wanted to tell you about the IMs and the possible connection to that book. Feel free to pass this info on to Wes.
