Sorry fFor the caps.. uhm .. but .. uhm .. DON'T DO IT!! SCarlett is, in fFact, in less danger now than she has been all along. If they were going to kill her, they would have done it and gotten it over with. She is, right now, not in any danger. She is being treated pretty well, and still updating us regularly. Now, if next friday we don't have anything, then maybe we could consider the possibility something is up. maybe. until then, WE TELL NO ONE!!!!!

fFor anyone who has a guilty conscience, consider this: Sente is quite likely monitoring his daughter's transmissions constantly. He's surely knows what is going on, eh.

No need to worry here. If they were going to kill here they would have done it already.

So many assumptions. If I'm wrong, the only thing that happens is more of our friends - not that we've been acting like friends to them - know the truth. If you're wrong, Scarlett's life is forfeit.

That's ok with you?

Listen, I know this is bad; VERY BAD. But now is not the time to blow the whistle; this may be the absolute worst point to do so.

She's in the lion's den, surround by enemies. This is also known as a 'powderkeg'. So, either we let things run their course and take our chances with all hell breaking loose, or alerting someone and making sure things go down rough. They're not killing because they're not threatened at the moment.

Scarlett has an emergency system with Castille Sr.; and Lord knows she's not exactly prompt with her blog updates. We have to trust Castille, no matter how blindly foolish it may seem. The only thing I suggest she do is continue updating on a constant feed, and immediately relay all the files she scooped to us before they do anything to her key (or her) and such nastiness.

We've been playing with fire since Day 1 of the train ride; this is no time to duck out and pass the buck to any Perplexians. Think about it: this is a military institution, hidden from maps and public knowledge, operating in a city that shouldn't exist. What's to stop them from going ape-$#!+ if other authorities come knocking? What if the entire upper echelons know about this and start plucking out the leaks one by one? If we do nothing, we may lose Scarlett; this is true. But, if we tell, we just as well may lose everything and everyone in a bloodbath this compund has as a Plan X.

So, to put it bluntly:
Either we cross our fingers, or we chop them off with a steak knife.
And I'm not a fan of the 'steak knife', thank you very much.

Why are people so quick to jump in, and email for help? We should have learnt to keep quiet, from the Aiko affair, Scarlett has CLEARLY stated that she doesn't want us to contact anyone She's safe. Stop worrying.

Hmmm...she'll be OK, they certainly seem OK at the moment. But what would you do if they were them? Wipe her memory and send her back? But they'd have to know whether other people on the outside are involved and presumably wipe their memories too, and they can't wipe ours (at least I hope not, mind you, it wouldn't take much to do that to me). Keeping her indefinitely would draw too much attention to her absence, so we're not going to up in an episode of the Prisoner, as would bumping her off.

I suggest that they'll give her carefully selected snippets of information, possibly changing our entire perception of what's really going on and casting them in a positive light. We'll then have to decide how much of it is truth.

What sort of curve-ball do you reckon they'll throw? Something to do with Sente's past in the security services? Kurt's a sweet transvestite from transexual Transylvania? Scarlett's dad is a Rubik's cube? Hmmm Question

It's one of those strange "gaming" phenomena. Earth people will fairly often "look the other way" or "wait things out". Once they enter the perplex reality they are so eager to be involved they want to do rather than not-do. I know from my previous realm that leaders (GM's) utilise this fact to prune those eager bunnies down to size.

Alright, this mail is sitting in my e-mail's Draft Box, ready at the waiting.

I wrote:

If you can read this message from the compound, I just want you to know The Team is still here for you, and still keeping our yappers shut about all this, concerned as we are. But, as a personal request from me, could at all set up a relay of what you have or anything else you may find that you feel we would want or need, or least to our contact abroad as a carrier and a way to reach him? Though we all hope for the best, our hands are tied and we don't know what to expect, either. So, please, in case what happened to Allain happens to you, Gyvann prevent, keep in touch as much as possible, including making sure those things reach either us or you-know-who-else. Don't back out; I'm panicking, yes, and so is everyone else here, but the depth you've delved into this compound is too far to throw away in a potential disaster.

I speak vaguely in case this is read by unwanted eyes, which I'm sure will be present in time.

I know this hasn't been even close to comforting, but we are all deeply concerned for your safety, and I know so many other swould be if they knew. But, The Team is still here for you, Mezzie. Come out alright.

So, mail it to her and see what we get, or trash it and not take the gamble?

(I'll tally by PM's to me of "yes" and "no"; first to three the same in a row... er, wins.)

Hm, you've got a carefully crafted note, and thats good. I was about to say yes, send it, so she knows we're here. But i think not. I think if prying eyes do read it, they will demand to know who else she has working with her, and where they can be fFound. that gets messy.

Maybe if a message really is heavily veiled and vague, giving no proper sense of who is doing what where really, it might be nice. Like: "Lana; We're all at the pub. Where are you??? don'y make us send out the search party! No worries, tho, we didn't tell hotpants about your little issues. --The Gang" or something.

If I were Scarlett, and I received that though, I would be confused as hell!
I don't think we should do anything in this case. She has all of those security measures anyway.
If we tell someone, it will take them forever to try and find her, because remember, Viendenbourg isn't easy to infiltrate. They would be mind-melted and end up in hospital again! And, if they did get in to try and rescue her, they would most likely be captured on site. So do we tell someone, and wait two to three weeks for them to get anywhere near her, by which point if they wanted Scalett dead, they would kill her? Remember that if they killed Scarlett then they would most definitely kill whoever came for her.
Or, if we don't tell someone, and Scarlett dies, then they would still have been alerted by the signals she has set up. Nothing we can do in this scenario would help, so we should just wait it out. If they were going to kill her, they wouold have done so by now. But they haven't. because we would have found out, right? Personally I hope she lives. She is the most trustworthy member of the kiteway family. (AKA the only truly trustworthy one, what with sente sounding a bit like satan, and violet sounding a bit like violent)

EDIT:
I meant Scott's email would be confusing as hell! She would probably think she had lost her memory too!

So, no it is; glad I went with the Draft Box, then!
I would assume it would be best to do nothing.

I would send a super-cryptic message, but Scarlett isn't exactly her father's daughter in the brains deptartment now, is she? Laughing

Alright; so we wait.

They'd have killed her as soon as she went in the first time if that's what they were going to do. Obviously not stupid people running that place.

Just because they have decided not to kill her right away hardly means she is out of danger though. Maybe they want to question her before they kill her? Maybe they want to trap some of her friends as well. Maybe they know who she is and are planning a cover story for her death!?

I am amazed by how much we all want to sit back and just let this play out. Sure something will happen if we do, but something different will happen if we don't! If your daughter / sister / freind, had been taken prisoner by a shaddowy group in a quasi-military base, with a history of brain washing people, wouldn't you want to know?

Yes, the thing is that it isn't a case of whether they want to know, it's a case of what would be best for scarlett.

Thing is, we can't just sit back from everything just because the last bit of meddling got aiko in trouble, it isn't much of an ARG if we don't interact.

Also, even if we don't tell anyone, we still need to get those documents from scarlett soon so that if the worst should happen then it won't have been completely pointless.

Finally, this all seems disturbing, I speculate that major castille is in 3p and he set this whole thing up to lure scarlett into a trap, but the facility is not that of the 3p, so 3p won't take the hit from her mysterious dissappearence. (might be true?)

People seem to be missing the point that Scarlett has key service.

We got all our info from Scarlett, if she wanted this to go to Sente she could have sent it straight to him. We are here to help Scarlett not to second-guess her.
