AI

I remember reading about a AI in the Ong's Hat book. It was called the Metamachine. I looked it up on google and found this: http://www.metamachine.org/

There's a diagram linked from the words 'MetaMachine Software'.

Maybe nothing, maybe something.

shadowtalk1: The exterior /\ product of 2 vectors in V(p,q)
defines a 2-dimensional area.
Since it is the product of 2 vectors,
it is a bivector.
The exterior /\ product is alternating, or antisymmetric,
so that a /\ b = -b /\ a for all a,b in V(p,q),
and
the bivectors of V(p,q) have dimension n(n-1)/2.
Call the bivectors "elements of grade 2".

The exterior /\ product of k vectors in V(p,q)
defines a k-dimensional hyper-volume.
Since it is the product of k vectors,
it is a k-vector.
The k-vectors have dimension n!/k!(n-k)!.
Call the k-vectors "elements of grade k".

The exterior product of n vectors in V(p,q)
defines the n-dimensional volume element.
Since it is the product of n vectors,
it is an n-vector.
It is also the pseudo-scalar, the volume, and
the determinant of the n vectors.
The psuedoscalars, like the scalars, have dimension 1.
Call the pseudoscalars "elements of grade n".
Since they represent n-dimensional volumes,
they are related to n-dimensional hypercubes.

Since the exterior /\ product is alternating,
or antisymmetric,
and a /\ a = - a /\ a = 0 for all a in V(p,q),
the exterior product of more than n vectors vanishes,
and there are no elements of grade higher than n.

Now, I think it is HIP. Maybe the bot just knows how to call people. But it's learning from google.

They're homonyms.

Gray-grey
Weather-wether (and whether)

Why those two words, I don't know.

Figured out where he's getting all the grey weather/Hugh stuff from, it's a book called "The Water of the Wondrous Isles" by William Morris

Look at this:

http://www3.sympatico.ca/mdubroy/WATER_People.htm

It's a listing of the characters

excerpts from the descriptions:
Quote:

Black Valley of the Greywethers: A valley leading into the mountains, dotted with grey great stones which look as if they were once in order. At the centre of the valley is a series of stone circles, focusing upon the King's Stone. Further information under Greywethers. The valley is reputedly the haunt of unmanlike creatures. Most are afraid to enter it. It leads to the haunts of wild men in the mountains. Also Black Valley and Valley of the Greywethers

Faery: Mythical beings having diminutive human forms and magical powers.

Green Knight: Hugh.

Green Mountains: Mountains to the south of the Castle of the Quest, seven days' ride therefrom, the land of Sir Hugh.

Greywethers: The stones in the Black Valley of the Greywethers, said to be giants turned to stone, who at times regain their life, most especially upon Midsummer Night. If a man waits their awakening and, in the first moment of their change, speaks his desire in these words, "O Earth, thou and thy first children [giants], I crave of you such and such a thing" (150), he may have his desire, providing that he speaks no further word, answers no questions, and refuses the bribes of gold and women he will be offered. If he fails in this, he becomes one of the Stony People; if he is steadfast throughout the night, he gains his desire and the bribes. Also Stony People and Stony Folk.

Hugh: A valiant young man, exceeding beauteous, with clear skin, grey eyes, and curly gold hair. The knight who loves Viridis. Fellow to Arthur and Baudoin in the Quest. Also Green Knight.

Sender: From the charm which activates the Sending Boat, the person who puts the Boat in motion.

Stone-fretter: A powerful giant sling used in the siege of the Red Hold.

Valley of the Greywethers: Black Valley of the Greywethers.

On its last visit, it sent me this:

shadowtalk1: The ancient remains of four adults and two children have been dug up near Stonehenge, a find that one archaeologist called "exceptionally rare." The Associated Press reports that radiocarbon tests will be done on the remains to determine their age, but they are thought to have lived around 2300 B.C. while Stonehenge was being built.

"The grave is fascinating because we are seeing the moment when Britain was moving from the Stone Age into the Bronze Age," Andrew Fitzpatrick of Wessex Archaeology told AP. "This new find is really unusual. It is exceptionally rare to find the remains of so many people in one grave like this in southern England." Adding to the mystery: The bodies may not be of the same generation. There are indications the grave was dug up multiple times for reuse. Just a year ago, archaeologists unearthed the remains of a Bronze Age archer at Stonehenge whom they have since dubbed "The King of Stonehenge." It is believed he came from Switzerland and may have been involved in building the mysterious ring of stones.

When Israeli archaeologists began excavating caves near the Dead Sea, they found a real treasure that dates back to the second century A.D.

In addition to the human remains, the grave contained four pots belonging to the Beaker Culture that flourished in the Swiss Alps during the Bronze Age, some flint tools, one flint arrowhead and a bone toggle for fastening clothing, Wessex Archaeology told AP. Here's the conundrum: Multiple bodies in a single grave is indicative of the Stone Age, but the pottery is characteristic of the Bronze Age.

Between that and the Greywethers bit I quoted about, it looks like he is indicating stonehenge as maybe another place of power where wishes happen? Stonehenge is the Valley of the Greywethers from the old story?

Okay, I think I'm going to go ahead and email Dale some of this.

Nimue36 @collectivedetective.org found a related poem

From Nimue36 @collectivedetective

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I haven't seen it
anywhere and it seems relevant, it's a poem.

Shadow Talk
In the talking circle
I do not speak first.
I wait to hear the sounds of others
And feel the energy they emit.
Is it happy? Is it sad?
This is my gauge to know what to say.
For when I speak, it must be right.
It must be perfect, without blemish.
It must have more wit than the wittiest of them
Or more pathos than the most pathetic.
It cannot be mediocre.
So I wet my finger and put it in the air
Testing the WHETHER.
WHETHER to say this or WHETHER to say that.
I think on it long and hard.
I plot and scheme until I feel it is just right.
Then I open my mouth.
But instead of ME speaking,
The words come from my SHADOW
Who has stepped out in front of me.
Funny, I did not notice that there was a light
Coming from behind.
I want to stop Him from talking in my stead,
But He can be stronger than I at such times.
Someday, I hope that I will be able to stand
Beneath the sun at High Noon
When my SHADOW is not allowed to emerge
And speak the TRUTH.

If this has anything to do with our shadowtalk1 maybe we do need to
say something specific to get answers.

Nice poem! Thanks for finding it. The poem itself didn't give me the idea that we need to say the right thing. I got the feeling that shadow talk is the unwished-for external persona of the author that says the "appropriate" things in a public setting.
