Not quite sure how this would fit, but googling 25:14 I got this and a couple of different Bible verses Matthew 25:14 and Ezekiel 25:14.

well i knew about symbols.com from previous ARGs....I was also looking at it earlier in this puzzle...i was just looking at the wrong symbols....so when Jack gave the numbers...i knew immediatly where to look....

http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/25/2514.html

which lead me to the answer

http://www.anothercontestworthentering.com/warning.html

a news article about a murder from the Chicago Sun-Times ("myfriendisgone.jpg")

and an audio file
Quote:
"The target has been eliminated. One was in custudy. One has been released. The mission has been accomplished....Kain, out."

--------------------------------------------------------------
Quote:
Jack Trevor to me

Yes, Victor was a friend of mine. He was one of the people who contacted me about the ad that Jason placed up north.

Kain wouldn't kill anyone, he's not much for cleaning up messes. But he was there when it happend. I can feel it in my gut.

Why would he? Because he wants me to feel alone. And also because he wants to me stop what I'm doing. Is there a better way to get the message across? I doubt it. But I'm not going to stop. They will need to kill me for that to happen. If anything, this will push me harder then before. I will not let Victor die without reason.

The message was on an audio tape within the file the company that I work for made on the article that you saw. I never saw the file itself, another clerk did.

LAX

Since this Victor was one of the guys that contacted Jack about the ad in the paper, I say we keep an eye on the classifieds of this Chicago newspaper...I searched the classifieds for something about Sarah just now and found nothing...but it says on /murray that the ads only appear for a few days at a time....so keep your eyes open on any Chicago classifieds you may come across.

Hi, I've decided to jump in. Four questions:

1) Do you suppose it means anything that the banner ads are blacked out, the boat/RV ad has the name blacked out, but the Dell ad is intact? [Edit: Okay, the banner ads I was refering to are actually the Sun-Times logos. The boat/RV thing is suspicious, though. [Another edit: pegasus says that the blacked out part of the boat/RV thing probably says Chicago.]]

2) The weather in the screenshot is described as "lugubrious" (Webster's: mournful; doleful; dejected). That HAS to be a clue. Has this been noticed? [Edit: There's a painting called The Lugubrious Game: http://www.csulb.edu/~karenk/20thcwebsite/438final/ah438fin-Info.00047.html Probably a total coincidence, but worth mentioning.]

3) Those of you who signed up for the 360, did you have to include the solve in your email, or was the fact that you even had the address to send it to considered the solve in itself?

4) Is there a name for people playing this yet? If not, I suggest The Contestants.

blaqueice, nice solve. When I posted the 25:14 symbols link last night I couldn't figure out how it connected to all the Disney and rose clues. Now I see the clues were just vague references pointing us to "symbols".

There's also a piece of music, apparently...

In other news, this is my first post. I've just signed up. I'm doomed.

Dang, It's just getting interesting and I'm unable to get on my computer for a while. I'll try to get on at school(like I am now) but I can't guarantee anything.

honestly i dont think there is anymore to /warning than just that .... a warning that someone died trying to help Jack...but regardless..

A1- I believe the Ad is reffering to The Chicago Boat, RV, & Outdoors show ... I think it is crossed out for legality reasons...which is weird b/c he has Advertisers on his contest site...either way i wouldnt worry about it. big Red Herring imho.

A2 - Again...from this guys style .... i dont think the weather is a clue .... i think if you want to take anything from this page, its that Victor was from Chicago, and you need to be looking in Chicago classifieds for something to pop up about Sarah.

A3 -

solve the puzzle

e-mail the answer, along with your name, address and telephone number (phone number is optional) to the address provided on the answers page

taken from http://www.anothercontestworthentering.com/

A4 - no players dont have a name yet...Contestants makes sense...im down.

I told Jack I was going to look into Jason Young.

His reply:

As am I. The file that is in my posession does not hold any of his contact information or the name of the company that he works for (or even what it does). It could be government, it could be "small time". I really don't know.

I only found out about him working for a company that the company that I work for investigated once (and still is?) by looking at the names of past "clients". Sure, there are a lot of Jason Youngs' in the world, but how many of those know a Sarah Fisher and live in Kentucky?

I have no reason to believe, thus far, that the two are not one in the same.

Also, according to everything everyone has said, it sounds to me as if we are being given several places to pay attention to. Either these places are specfic locations whereby something will arise soon (such as the classified ads) or somehow they all tie together or both.

the numbers could possibly coordinates?

also, this may be nuts but doncha think the names (acronyms) on the image alliteratively correspond to the locations named so far?

personally, I noticed the four groups of three rings more than anything but those might be part of the original (although I am not convinced)

3-rings
4 groups of rings

...?

the graffiti picture is done...the numbers are a reference to the star symbol...which is a symbol for "warning" which is the answer to the puzzle....you can look for more meanings in the picture if you want...but I guarantee you its a waste of time.

Apparently Jack's got some more up his sleeve for the site.

Quote:
I realize that it will be hard for everyone who has contacted me to find each other. I mean, how are you supposed to know who has contacted me and who hasn't, right?

Because of this, I will be launching a forum soon. The link for that forum will be on the contest site within the next week or so. This will give you all a place to go and meet eachother, just in case something should happen to me before the contest ends.

Yeah, that part of the puzzle is done. We're waiting for the next puzzle now I'm sure.

Heres a recent msg I got from Kain:
Quote:
Mr. Trevor is a silly man. I would not be surprised if he didn't see our actions
as a warning that people close to him could get hurt if he continues.

I don't believe that he is smart enough to learn everything.

By the way, I will be going away again for a couple of weeks. I have some
business overseas to take care of.

So, A) Kain is gonna be gone for a while? B) I think Jack is in more trouble than he thinks.

So then I wonder, what's the purpose of this game? Are we supposed to try and save Jack? Or just find out what this big 'secret' is?
I'm still just trying to figure out if we're suppposed to pick sides or something. Ok now I'm just starting to ramble... Dunno

((Ack...sorry was away for a bit...but think I've caught up on the past week)) This is REALLY late but I received this from Jack 2 days ago, probably relating to the murder of his friend:

Quote:
I blame myself for what has happend. I should have read the signs, Kain going away being the biggest one. He never leaves the office unless there is a "job" to do. I just never thought that the "job" was to kill him. I will not let them get away with this.

This is getting REALLY sinister... Exclamation
