I think I was the first to email him asking about the 16 posters, but the last few days have been very busy. I emailed him again last night and got an answer, but at the moment gmail is not working for me, so I can't read his full reply.

There is one thing that LOX have that LAX does not. Do you know what that is? (Don't say "O").

My answer was "keys"..........(locks)....i wonder what kind of response that will get.

I think this is a hint that "alxynqwcii" is vigenere and we need a key to decode the message. I tried several key words last night, but so far none have worked. We need more hints.

I was thinking the same thing...I tried a bunch of stuff as well...but I got nothing...I got an email back from LAX...it basically just verifies that we need a key.

You are correct, sir. LOX (locks) have keys.

Hmmmm, I wonder what that means, though?

I had e-mailed LAX about the strange letters and if they would spell out a name or something, and I also re-capped what I knew with him...he responded with:

Quote:

Last things first.

I can definitely say with certainty that it will not spell out her name, or any name for that matter. However, you will find out what her name is once you figure out what to do with that strange arrangement of letters that you have quoted so nicely.

The "recap" was pretty much dead on. The only part that was a little off was that the company that I work for doesn't mainly focus of missing persons cases. In fact, it really doesn't even like to take on those types of cases.

You see, the company that I work for is a security company. There really is not any money in trying to secure something that is already beyond the point of being able to secure. It's sort of like the police only showing up after a crime has occurred. Protect and serve? Who are they protecting if the crime has already been committed?

Don't get me wrong. I like cops and respect the job that they do. I just think their slogan needs a little adjustment is all.

LAX

I asked for a little help in decoding "alxynqwcii" and got this

Quote:
Also, since you were so polite and asked for some help, I'll tell you this:

I have a ring of keys, all of them of similar size and shape. So many to choose from, so many possibilities. As I search through my ring of keys I see one that looks sort of familiar. "Yes", I say to myself "I have seen this one before".

so we've seen the answer someone before I take it.....
oh ..and I just got this...
keep emailing him...these are all really helping

Funny thing, those keys. They do seem to look the same after awhile.

I'm in the mood for a riddle, how about you?

A word is just a word
Don't add anything
Don't take anything away
How ever many times you read it
To change it would be pointless
My words are wise
Like that smart guy... uh, what's his name?

Okay, so I'm not much of a poet.

Ack! I think I found something...if you Vinegere (however that's spelt) "alxynqwcii" with the key being "onehtml" (because we used ONE to solve a previous puzzle, and then ADD HTML) you get "mytruelove"

Visit the new page here

Thanks

The first hidden page found was one.html the hints we were all getting seemed to point back to "one" as the keyword to decode "alxynqwcii", but that didn't work. If you look at the poem that blaqueice got from Jack

Quote:

it's an acrostic using the first letter from each line, telling us to add html to one, thus the keyword is "onehtml". If you go here enter alxynqwcii in the top box and onehtml in the middle box, then press decode you should get "mytruelove" in the bottom box. Hope that helps.

Btw, nice solve Whalewashingdolphin.

As I learn more about what might be going on, you can be sure that I will let you know about it. How much more? Well, obviously I can't predict the future so I can't say exactly.

The reason for the contest? Well, I guess you could say that I was looking for a quick and non-obvious way to get people's attention without drawing too much attention from those I work with. And what a better way then by giving stuff away for free?

You mentioned that you have some friends that you have been talking to. This is good to hear because you will need teamwork to find the posters that I have hidden.

If you have not done so already, I would suggest finding a place where you all can go and talk about things as I can relay them too you. It might help speed up the process a little bit, much like the influx of e-mails I've had to write in the past hour or so.

so yeah...like I said....I set up
#acwe
at irc.chat-solutions.org

I'd say that would be a good spot to discuss

Received this e-mail:

Quote:

Yeah, I'd have to say that I turned out quite well. Despite the fact that my parents used to try and compare me to the other kids in the neighborhood and ask me why I couldn't be more like them. Better grades, more friends.

Turns out that one of the kids that my parents used to compare me to ended up getting caught on the Canadian boarder with cocaine in his trunk. Now he's spending some time behind bars and I'm asking my parents if they still want me to be more like him.

Oh, sweet karma, how I love you so... hehe.

Concerning the help, I must say that there may be less and less of it and time goes on. I may find something and not know what it means or what to do with it. I won't always have the answers. Of course, when you create the puzzles, it's much easier to give the clues.

If I do happen upon something of interest, I will be sure to let you know about it. If not through e-mail, then definitely through the contest site. I'll try to keep anything new on the same page so that you don't need to spend pointless hours searching for anything that I might have left, only to come up empty handed. I'm not that mean.

there was some heated discussion today in the chat about how legit this contest acually is...so i decided to go right to the source.

Quote:
The one that people are probably having the most problem with is the XBOX 360, which is perfectly understandable. The fact that the contest is being held in February gives me an opportunity to run and get one at that time, instead of waiting in line for hours on end now. Plus, the price will probably go down a little as well. Smile

The contest is 100% legit and the prizes mentioned will definitely be given away
.

so think what you will....but really what do you have to lose by signing up to win?

I asked Jack why he's sending us his messages within the guise of a contest, is it a cover or something?

His reply:

Quote:
The Contest is a cover for my behind. Given the attitude that I was given at work for even questioning the file, I am not willing to take any chances with my contacts with the outside world.

This includes not giving away the name of the company that I work for... ever. If you happen to find me at the company through other means then myself telling you where to find me, then that means that the company that I work for was definitely trying to hide something.

LAX

If I assume that Jack's concerns are valid, then, we wll be finding him at the company....

Quite a tale. But I believe the saying begins "What goes around, comes around". Sarah's current "trouble"... is it not what you subconsciously wished upon her at some level?

But anyone can retract thoughts. They are only thoughts.

This Jason. He have a last name? And did you ever get around to talking to Sarah again...

Response

Quote:
There is a famous comic who once said "If you haven't contemplated killing someone, then you've never been in love."

I think that quote is more true then what you are saying. All relationships have their problems, even the ones that you wish existed. Just because I might have hated Sarah on some level doesn't mean that I wish anything bad to ever happen to her.

I really don't wish that apon anyone, even the ones who spit on me and laughed at me all throughout high school. Like you said, "what goes around, comes around." They will have their troubles in their lives, I am sure. But it does not mean that I wish it apon them.

Jason is Jason Young. Nice guy, from what I've seen about him. But, like any guy who is with the girl that you want to be with, I sort of wish he didn't exist. I would say that he's the exception to my "I wish no harm apon anyone" rule.

I haven't talked to Sarah since high school. I thought it best to leave the ball in her court, as the saying goes. She has someone and I'm not about to try and get in the middle of that. I've been on the receiving end of a cheating partner and swore that I would never be that guy... the one that get's involved with someone who is already involved with someone else.

LAX

Possibly Important Information in a few brief lines:

1. Jason's last name is Young.
2. Sarah and Jack have never happened upon each other since their high school days.
3. LAX was sent in a PURPLE text, instead of the regular BLACK
