[ACWE][EMAILS] January Interactions

Email Interactions taking place in the month of January.

First, I enquired to Jack regarding said Chemical, and whether or not it may have some effect of a biological weapon.

Jack Trever to me

Quote:
Actually, I've been looking more deeply into said chemical and found out that it wasn't a chemical at all. It was a vaccine for some sort of localized chemical weapon. I haven't been able to grab too much information, I was in and out of the file room pretty quickly. But, from what I could get, the chemical that it was a vaccine for is mainly used on small groups of people. The size of a small village I would say. 8,000 at the most?

I'm starting to think that there is more to Jason's "tip" then I had originally thought.

So the chemical that was stolen was indeed a chemical weapon, possibly hitting as many as 8000 people. Bad thing in the hands of the wrong people, eh?

Then I enquired to Kain about his trip to Korea. He maintains complete innocence, and also tries to shed some light on his supposed "killing of Vincent".

Kevin Kain to me

Quote:
Two things to note here: 1) The article is obviously fake. Any attempt at finding it would prove that. 2) if that "sound bite" is supposed to be a "communication" then why is there no static? Why does it sound so clear? It's almost as if someone recorded it onto their computer, don't you think?

You better try and figure out who you should be trusting... and soon. The wrong choice could lead you down a path that you do not want to follow.

He brings up some points of note, but then again I was thinking these were on the part of the PM (After all, I didn't expect a real article in a real media establishment). Who knows.

Quote:
Ahhhh, Korea. Yes, it was quite fun indeed. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for the stop in Afghanistan a day before returning. But, when you have a contract with the government, they tend to slip the fine print in on you without you even realizing it.

I am starting to look at Mr. Trevor with a different eye, given some recent events. But don't take that the wrong way. There is always a side of me that will be watching my back, just in case.

So the "company" works with government contracts, and Kain seems to be turning his views on Jack as well.

EDIT- Changed it to January interactions. No use cluttering the boards with more interaction threads... for now.

I think, based on what Jack said, the "chemical" was a vaccine. Should we try to figure out what the biological weapon might be? There aren't too many that have a vaccine.

My mistake. Serves me right for only reading every second word. Razz

Maybe someone stole the vaccine to stop anyone from using it to stop an outbreak of the chemical weapon.

Kain sheds some light on Jason's company, as well as said "vaccine". Might not be a vaccine at all...

I believe this was all gathered by Aaron Flemming, the guy that Young met in Chicago, the one that Jack wanted us to pose as.

For now, keep this information from Jack, and use discretion when emailing.

Quote:
It appears as though Mr. Young is worried about the safety of his live-in girlfriend, Ms. Fisher.

We had one of our guys in Chicago, Illinois, posing as an interested party, meet Mr. Young on Sunday afternoon to get some information from him. The information is as follows:

- the company that Mr. Young works for, on it's surface, makes vaccines.

- there is another part of the company, which Mr. Young has recently become aware of, that produces something else. Something that he said they call "Siphonaptera".

- company rules state that, for security purposes, no employee is allowed to have any relations inside or outside of the company with another employee or other.

We were unable to get more information out of Mr. Young. I will keep in touch with any further developments.

*Kain*

Siphonaptera is a synonym for "flea". But thats not likely what this "chemical" or whatever it is means. The name Siphonaptera is derived from the Greek words "siphon" meaning a tube or pipe and "aptera" meaning wingless. So while being a good word for flea, expect this to be something much worse.

Yeah, I am currently without a car right now, so I was not able to make the event in time. It would've taken me forever by public transportation, and oy, tailgating for a football game? Horrors. Wink

Looks like it may be fleas after all, and not a metaphor for something else.

Jack to me

Quote:
I have run across the name of what was missing from the company that Mr. Young works for. As you probably already know it, there is no need for me to repeat it. However, I have done some research on the name and found that the it is associated with something called "Black Death", also known as the "Black Plague".

http://www.insecta-inspecta.com/fleas/bdeath/

Black Death, taking place in the 1300's, was one of the worst natural disasters in history. In 1347 A.D., a great plague swept over Europe, ravaged cities causing widespread hysteria and death. One third of the population of Europe died. "The impact upon the future of England was greater than upon any other European country." (Cartwright, 1991) The primary culprits in transmitting this disease were oriental rat fleas carried on the back of black rats.

So watch out for those oriental rat fleas. Razz

Here's some info on the flea itself.
http://www.insecta-inspecta.com/fleas/bdeath/Flea.html

And take a look at the sidebar on the left for more info.

if it's a "vaccine" for palgue-bearing fleas, might the chemical in question be Permethrin? (sp?)

Update on Jack's email addy: I sent an email to him to check up on things since we haven't had any action. Here is what he said:

Quote:
I needed to change accounts. If you would like to contact me, please feel free to do so at jack.trevorSPLATgmail.com. Since the contest is getting closer and closer, I do not check this account as often as I should. But you can always reach me at the new one.

This email change was revealed a couple weeks ago, to my recollection.

As for the whole flea-vaccine-chemical thing, I am still not quite sure what is going on.

On one end, we could see it as being literal, where actual fleas are being administered as carriers of some disease.

On the other, more likely end, we could see it as metaphorical. The disease could be named what it is because of its characteristics similar to the "Black Plague", or similar to the flea itself.

Things are still very hazy on this subject, and the game hasn't done a very good job clearing things up, either.

Hopefully the next puzzle will do just that.

*UPDATE* Tis not a flea, its metaphoric. The confusion may rest.

Sarah and I rendezvous through emails.

I emailed her using the address from the guestbook, said some nice things, and then offered my condolences for the lost child.

Quote:
Sarah Fisher to me

Thank you very much for your kind words. It is one thing to keep your
thoughts and feelings inside a "paper" journal. It is quite another to try
and express yourself in such a way that your most private of issues become
known to the world.

You ask yourself many questions before hitting the "done" button. The most
obvious is "why on earth am I putting this here?". The answer is something
that only those who choose to express their love for another can understand.

When you are in love you want to scream the praises of your loved one from
the highest of mountain tops. Suddenly your issues, some of which may have
been hard to deal with, do not become the self sustaining "bubble of
trouble". They, instead, become the vehicles which you use to dictate how
supportive your lover, whoever they may be, has been in even your darkest of days.

Quote:
me to Sarah

Wow. I must say that you have a very profound aura around you. Everything you say is with such procision, and it just hits a note with everyone who reads it. You must've sold your share of vacuums. Very Happy

You have a 'Dear Abby...' feel... and I'm glad you can take the good from what many would presume to be an event with no possible good outcome.

I know it may seem like I'm prying, but how did it happen?

And Sarah replies with a plausible reason for the miscarriage.

Quote:
And you have a very kind aura around you.

Having questions about things that we do not fully understand is only human
nature and is therefore something that I have prepared myself for.

My doctor says that it could have very well been from the move. I have been
told that one is not supposed to lift more then 5 pounds when one is
pregnant. That information, as informative as it is, came to the attention
of my ears a bit too late. It seems as though my excitement got the best of
me and caused my unfortunate problem.

And even Sarah gets suspicious...

Quote:
Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you come about finding my site? That
is a question that has been puzzling me for a couple of days now.

Sorry to put you on the spot, I just didn't know people would find it so
fast is all.

Thank you for your time.

My reply was cunning.

Quote:
The Internet is a database of billions upon billions of pages... but it only takes a single click to get to any one of them.

But I also posed some other questions as well.

Quote:
Jack Trevor, ring a bill?

I was wondering why on your site you have many (beautiful) pictures of yourself (did I mention they are beautiful?), but none of Jason, who is nothing but praised in all of your tales. It would be nice to put a face to the name.

What does the 'le' mean in 'lesarahfisher'?

Why only put that one image on the website, when there are so many other ones that may grace our desktops?

And, after reading your last update (Oops for not checking earlier), I noticed your discussion on paying attention, and I focussed extremely on your 'necklace' statement.

Necklaces - Is there something on her necklace? if so, what? a dolphin? a cross?

Oddly enough, I was wondering about your necklace in the first 4 pics on Photobucket. It definitely stands out (and looks great on you, by the way). The aqua circle, surrounded by the colored, smaller circles could be construed as some sort of symbol. Am I looking into this too much?

Sarah seems up to the task. All the " " text is referring to which question she is answering. Note, all these questions transpired over a series of emails, so no, I didn't just bombard her. Condensed for time purposes. And no, she doesnt remember Jack Trever.

Quote:

"I was wondering why on your site you have many (beautiful) pictures of

I will see about getting one up soon. Honestly, I had never even thought
about putting one of him up, but it does make a lot of sense to do so.

He is away for a little while, but when he returns I will see if I can snap
one when he least expects it. Otherwise you will get one of him sleeping or
in some other position that you would much rather not have seen. You have to
understand, Jason is quite shy when it comes to photo's. He's the type that
doesn't really like when he has to be in them. Not everyone is perfect, I
would know.

"Jack Trever, ring a bill?"

I can't say that it does right now. Should it?

"What does the 'le' mean in 'lesarahfisher'?"

It's French for "the". I took French twice and failed it both times. "le" is
really the only word that I can remember that I can actually spell.

"Why only put that one image on the website"

Ohhhh, I am so glad that you asked that. My new site, which should be up in
a couple of weeks (money problems - moving takes a toll on your finances),
will have a "customize" option where you will be able to choose which photo
you look at each time you visit the site. I thought that it would be
something fun for people who visit.

"Am I looking into this too much?"

I would say that you are. The necklase was a "thift store" purchase. You can
find a lot of good stuff there, despite the attitude that some would have
against such a purchase.

Sarah also mentioned she would like some more correspondance, other than me. She sees the hits but the emails just aint comin' in!

And Kain has his own ideas...
Quote:

Kain to me

What I found interesting was that she makes no mention about the call that Mr. Young has made to us. It's almost as if she doesn't even know. And maybe she doesn't.

Jack needs our help. As a team, so let's get some more people interested. We'll apparently need a good amount of people to complete this.

Quote:
So how's it been going? I haven't heard from you in a little while. I almost thought that you had abandoned me, like everyone else seems to have.

I guess that I can understand though. It is hard to stay interested in someones' concerns when they don't have any answers to give you and that person isn't even really being clear as to what the concerns really are.

It's really been a tough decision to keep certain things from you and everyone else who has contacted me. Believe me when I tell you that it is even harder to try and explain my reasoning for doing so. You'll have to excuse me while I try to now.

The information that I have needs to be weighed before I can give it to you. There are many outcomes that can come from giving out any piece of information. What you find out on your own is one thing, what you find out through me is a totally different situation all together. We were lucky that Mr. Kain decided to turn his head in the other direction. I am not too convinced that others would be willing to do the same.

The plan wasn't to test your patience for as long as I have, sort of (I'll explain later). The plan was to spend as much time as possible gathering as much information as possible so, come time for the end of the contest, I would actually have answers to the questions that were asked. That was why I started it so early. Well, that and I needed to know where people lived so I could know where to put the posters. I don't want people driving too far to pick them up. In fact, if you start looking around your town in the next few days, you may see one hanging up before the contest even ends and you have been given the puzzles needed to find them.

The second thing to occur is the posters. The plan and purpose of both the contest and the posters was to acquire a group of individuals who would be willing to work as a team to acquire whatever knowledge is available to them.

Nothing has been made clear to you. There appears, at the moment, to be absolutely no purpose for what I am doing. In fact, it looks a lot like a wild goose chase. This has been completely on purpose. (Here is "later") How else can you find those who are truely dedicated to whatever cause you have? I've lost a lot more people then I had expected, but I hope to get them back after the contest ends and information starts pouring into your lap so fast that you will wish things were like they are now, nice and slow.

The information will start with the puzzles. I do not expect that these puzzles will be cracked very easily and I will be of no help in solving them. I can not stress how important it is for you and whoever else is still around at that time to work together in solving them.

The reason for doing so will be made clear to you soon. Until then, enjoy this peace and quiet for it shall soon end.

LAX

And Sarah still doesnt know about Jack, even though I pried a bit more. In fact, it seems Jack might have fabricated this.
Quote:

After your last e-mail to me I spent some time going through some of my old
stuff. I'm surprised most of it made it through the moving process to be
completely honest. Anyway, long story short, I still can not find anything
about a "Jack Trevor". Even in my yearbooks. Are you sure that he was in my
grade?

You also say that he was a neighbor of mine. That's odd since I lived on a
farm. The closest "neighbor" was about a three minute drive from my old
house.

Are you sure you have the right person? It is possible that you have
mistaken me for someone completely different.

Please let's discuss the box in Sarah's home - isn't it odd?

Ok so I am changing from lurking to getting involved. I am a newbie so maybe I missed something. My curiosity centers on the box Jason stored in the house and then took away.

Subsequently people came back to the house and did a thourough "cleaning".

How much more odd can that be. I have asked Sarah through her Guest Book about the box ... maybe a wild goose chase.
