Y'know.. I jsut posted this on the ingame boards... and it makes more sense there it stil lmakes sense here...

Quote:
Y'know.. I think a mountain is being made of.. well nothing here.

The hubub about this background image and Westminster... If Mr. Pearson knew something, why would he hide it in the background? He's recruited us and we're his allies... I guess I really think that soemtimes a nifty collection of images for a background is just a nifty collection of images for a background.. and a cigar is sometimes just a cigar.

I know we all want to help Araya, but people... calm yourselves. We hardly have any evidence to go on yet and we're so desperate for soemthign to do we are lookign at everything as something hidden. I don't think Mr Pearson would hide stuff in the background image... it jsut doesn't fit.

Everyone. Take a deep breath. Relax.

Now here in the out of game boards, I can slightly more see PMs leavign clues in this background image. HOWEVER, honestly, it doesnt seem right for them to do so at all. There's no reason for it.. and if they are good PMs they wouldnt do soemthign randomly.

I think the back ground image was jsut meant to look neat. If this was Araya's personal webpage, I'd say maybe it DID hold some hidden message.. but not this page.

That may be true but, for those of us that are new or rusty, its good practice and fun to boot!

EDIT - I seem to remember now. Wasn't there a very big investigation that was global in scope that started with someone's unrelated website being HACKED? If I remember correctly, it created quite a BUZZ.

I'm guessing it's another page we'll use soon, but just thought I'd share it.

Reminder not to use this method while playing this ARG. If the purpose of this was to finish quick then they wouldnt be waiting til Late January to get it into full gear.

The best part of an ARG is the puzzle elements, teamwork, etc. Don't ruin that! Anyone with a computer can cheat, it takes skill to play an ARG.

Dont know if this is of importance but theres a few things i noticed on the sticker examples James put up on the pda.

The first one is missing a letter 'e' in Benedict.

Second one has space in the website name.

Third one adds the 'www.' which the others dont.

These could be nothing. James mentions how we won't like them because he's not good at art or whatever. Perhaps he messed them up on purpose to make them bad..or maybe they do mean something.

I have already mentioned them....good observations though.

The second sticker with the space leads to a news website btw, could it be of some use to us later?

I've just been visiting www.araya.com and this seems to be e genuine newssite, which has as main web-address: www.wn.com. Apparemtly the site arraya.com links to this latter site.
I've tried searching the site for the name araya, but only get results in the Turkisk language (which was, of course, obvious).

I do not have the faintest idea why araya.com links to this website. Maybe someone could check the ownership of those sites?

If we hadn't used that method before, the sticker page wouldn't have been found. I think it is an acceptable way to play. If not, then why was a password found in this manner and a hidden message.

Not quite true - take a look a few posts up, Enigmaster solved it without resorting to any shortcuts, just solved the Berendt puzzle. I have to agree with the others that have already said it - using the play feature in Flash may get you to the page you're after, but it's not really in the spirit of the game to do it.

Just my .02, of course Smile

Flynn and Chewy are quite correct. Takeing advanmtage of Flash in THAT way is considered "cheating" and is a no-no.
