[Poll] Who do we send?

So, we have a meeting that is coming up soon, and we should sort out who to send. If anyone at all...

Kurt gets my vote.

Yeah, definitely Kurt. If he wants to, that is. He is already suspicious that something is happening, and furthermore, so far he has been trustworthy. I have my doubts about everyone else.

Well since above I can't vote for two people, I'll put it here, I vote for garnet going in person with a wire to kurt, that would seem best and safest.

Just had a rethink, garnet strikes me as the kind of person who would listen to everything people tell him to do and then go off and do what he thinks is 'best'.

So just kurt

Was there really any point in posting this poll, as far as I could tell nobody has went against sending kurt, oh well, lets just watch as his popularity/dispensibility increases uncontrolably.

I know, but it's best just to check he is what the majority wants. It is a fairly big decision, and one I felt we should have a poll for. Like when we were deciding what to do about Scarlet when she was in the accident.

Not sure I was here then, however, since this is obviously quite dangerous, there is no guarentee that kurt won't ask someone to acompany him anyway.

"Who shall we send?"!
I understand it all now!
It's a plot to manipulate us into manipulating perplexians! Sente is hoping we'll send one of his daughters to their death, so he has an excuse to vilify us, and make war on Earth!
It's all so obvious!
(SEND SENTE!)

I don't think we shouldn;t send Kurt, I just think that garnet would be a better choice.

My plan (which definitley calssifies as 'Other') is to send multiple people.

Read what I said here about the 2+ idea.

I'm glad that the idea went over well in that topic.
But, two isn't the only number we can work with.

So long as the team we assemble is trustworthy, inconspicuous, and competent, there should be no problem.

Garnet would be the man of such a caliber to go along with the face-to-face, but we should do everything we can to keep him and everyone else involved safe. Get him to set up an emergency beacon not unlike the one Scarlett's using, establish a heavily encoded key connection with a nearby operative, and get somebody to organzie and establish all these necessary channels. Kurt could whip this up easy. All we need is someone to be in the shadows, and this can be two or more.

In short:
Garnet up front, _____ & ______ in the shadows, Kurt with the tools and setup.

Who's with me on this, or least that one is certainly not enough?

Regardless, we're going to have to organize the Perplex end of this soon; the day the Sentinel reports snow, it's T-minus 7 days. I say we tell Kurt now so he can start getting the specifics ready.

EDIT: Moved all text from deleted post in 'Viard' topic to more relevant (if parallel) discussion.

Ok, i have emailed Kurt, telling him what we heard on the CD. (I decided honesty was the best policy here, but asked him not to tell anyone else, not even Violet, until we tell him he should)
If we want to amend the plan, like ask him to bring someone, then we can send him further instructions.
To clarify, I didn't give him the details of the meeting, so we can decide later what to do. But since we all seem to agree to have Kurt somehow be involved, I thought it best to give him a head's up.

Ryandrew's message should not cause an inordinate amount of grief; there is yet to come a substantial period of time ere the ceremony in question, and it remains, thus, well within the bounds of our power to arrange matters according to our will. All that remains is to decide what to do with the time that is given us. I am of the opinion that Garnet would be a most wise choice for the office of accompanist to Kurt on his perilous quest to Gillet Street. Perhaps, in the event that we acquire contact information from Kurt, we could inquire as to the details of the Djinn Worm virus, about which I, for one, hold a substantial quantity of curiosity.

Come on, snow, it's not like we were going to keep Kurt out of the loop until seven days before the meet; there needs to be more time between for planning. He said he didn't reveal any of the details about the meet, so it's not like Kurt's going to run to the police and ruin the meet; we've established trust. If anything, I'm happy he was informed, because now he knows he's going to have to start arranging for others we decide later to get in on it.

Kurt hasn't ratted us out yet, and he has enough sense to keep a level head and keep it on the hush. This causes almost no grief, if not a benefit.

We need to get over our fear of divulging information that we've all got after our slip-ups. Kurt had to be told, sooner better than later.

Of course, I am curious of what exactly Ryan said to Kurt in the mail. Ryan, could you repost your message? I think it would calm Snow's nerves (and everyone else who's worried). If you kept declassification low, no harm, no foul, everyone can chill. If you said a bit much, we'll know and start working on damage control.

Just to be safe. Wink

For what it's worth, I agree with Snowchyld here. After days of discussion, an individual takes it upon himself to firstly set up a poll, and then, less than three hours after putting it up, sends off details of our latest lead to one of our Perplex City contacts.

Based upon the fact that the subject was still under rather a lot of discussion by a sizeable portion of the community, it's pretty exceptionally rude. Take into account that we've been scorched before by individuals deciding to run their mouths off to our PxC comrades and it's downright foolish. There is no rush for this decision to be taken - once we hear that the first snows have fallen upon Perplex City, we still, even then, have *seven* days to communicate the details.

How many more times do we have to get our fingers burned eh kids? It's not like it hasn't been discussed time and again on these forums...

True, Juxta.
It was a rash move.
Of course, only Ryan and Kurt know exactly how rash it was.

In some way, I feel that I'm responsible for this. Namely:
I wrote:

Before I go and do what I'm about to suggest, I want to get a solid majority of repsonses. What I want to do is send Kurt a mail, telling him exactly what's happened. If we approach him straight up and tell him the information given to him was premature and should not be sent to anybody else. We may have let the cat out of the bag too soon, but it doesn't mean we can't jam the little mongrel back in, am I right?

If we present a rational and honest case to Kurt, he'll probably stay put.

(Of course, I'm not typing a word until I get 80% [4/5] approval in the next five anwsers I get.)
