KCPD seems to be used for the Kansas City Police Department or at least Kansa related. However, a Channel 11 broadcasting company does not show up on internet.

On the other hand, also the picture at the freewebs site uses KCPD, where it says: breakers can be taken down KCPD11 - underdog. Would that indicate that the maker of the freeweb pic is the cause of the (putative) site being down.

Another thing that I notice in the picture is right in the middle of the map of the USA there is something that seems to point to a circle (or rather a "(0'' ) in the map. As far as I can imagine, it points to the North-West corner of Kansas (which is the opposite site with respect to Kansas City).

Lastly, the indication 'flash data heavy' is strange and does not seem to connect to the rest of the information.

Any ideas?

New Code in email from Jason Dellacort

My email to Jason:
Quote:
Jason

In frustration at the site's failure I made some silly error and cleared my
bookmarks and favourites. Thankfully I had your email address saved
separately. I know it's probably not in service right now, but could you
please send me the link to the site again so that I can re-connect once
things are up and running again.

Also, any advice on when things will be back to normal will be much
appreciated. Sattelites going nuts? That sounds serious. Should I start
looking into obtaining recompense?

Cheers

Jason's email to me:
Quote:
For all intents and purposes, the site's normal address is http://www.kcpd11.com/
No idea when things will be back to normal. C0mpensation will be made I'm sure.

------
GMail has encountered an error!
For problemsolving tips, please report error code:
QIIN6k70LFpkFLgwZpTle7FvctvAw6Qn/T5HrtkKWEDEbf5RwPKxiA==

kcpd11.com cannot be found, but the thing I thought was most interesting was the GMail error code at the bottom. It looks suspiciously like the "commencingtakedown" code that we had previously, although a base 64 conversion reveal garble. This isn't an actual GMail error is it? I'm guessing that the "takedown" hacker has also accessed/corrupted KCPD11's employee communications...but I don't yet know how to decrypt it.

What's going on with this game? Anything? I emailed Jason Dellacort and I got the same GMail error code. I looked around on GMail site for any clues or if this is possibly a real GMail error. Nothing. I'll continue to look but this game may be dead.

I don't know what's going on with this game. I got two Emails from Jason lately. The first did state the well known GMail error and today another mail arrived with the word C0mpensation in it, followed by the old message that was sent to me a week ago. I don't think that Googlemail is filling the mails with that messages. Though I doubt that it is a reall google error. I'll send them (Google) a mail asking about those errors. Let's see what they can tell us.

Maybe "C0mpensation" is the keyword for the last line of the mail?

Don't know if anyone is still listening, and even if you are I'm not really sure this is helpful, but...

I did a bit of looking around and found that C0 is a control code. Considering this I don't think it is really able to be translated, but seeing as I don't have any real understanding of such things I thought I'd post these links here and see if anyone else can make anything of it.

Wow, first ARG! I'd like to be part of this.

OK, this might not mean anything, but y'know how the map image looks like an I-R image? Does anyone know what's at the point where it's 'hottest' (ie. white surrounded by red)? I'd fire up GoogleEarth and check it out, but it's way too late and I don't have it on this computor.

OK, sorry to double post, if anyone cares, but there's been little action for a while, and now this:

I got an email from mi.55548SPLATgmail.com: @@@@@SECURETRANSMISSION@@@@@! with only a link to www.shorttext.com/lt56 in it. So I take a look at the site, and not much interesting there. So I have a gander at the source, and I find a string of info called "hidden". Here 'tis:

It's Base64, but it doesn't make any sense to me, other than repetition of the "If you want your own URL for this text, click here ($2/year)" text string. Perhaps something page-encoded, and not game related?

hey everyone, just noticed this ARG so I thought I'd jump in as Renata Isle is currently at a standstill.

In Brave New World, the people of the world let their lives be controlled by the government so they all have everything they could ever want but are born and raised with constant subliminal messages that force them to think in specific ways. I'm thinking this Methargo is a conglomeration of people who are using these satelites for a similiar plot? Just conjecture, I apologize if this isnt even important.

is it just me or does that colored USA map seem to show data flow? Flash data heavy? what kind of information or resource is heaviest in the northwest and gets less so the farthest southeast you go? once again maybe im just way off...

Yeah, I looked at an unrelated entry on shorttext.com and it had that code posted as well. Sorrys, false alarm.

But anyways, why send me some random message just sayin "bottomcode"? Confusing.

Wow this isn't dead? You think the PMs are waiting for us to do something? Not the best plan, but oh well. Anyway just notice this, the line

is not a true line. That is not a real count, the site owner wrote that. Also it was made on the 6th. That is just 2 days ago by my count.

Now I hate to say this but I smell a rat, or at least something fishy. Ralphomon, this is your first ARG, you join after it has been stale of a while and you only have 3 posts and they are all in this thread.... I smell a KCPD-11 agent!!! Defend yourself!!!! I declare a witch hunt!!!!!!

Edit: Wait, bottom code? Do you think it means the G mail error thing?

I do! I do think it means the gmail error code. Doesn't mean I can magically solve it now though...or does it?

Sorry to butt in, but Renata's been a dead end for a while, so I thought I'd check out some other games.

If you base 64 the error code from the email, you get:

@‚
êNô,Zd¸0f"å{±orÛÀä'ý>G®Ù
X@ÄmþQÀò±ˆ

Now, since I just started looking at this game, I don't know if any of the IG characters refer to others by a single initial, but I wonder if you just need a substitution code from here. I say this because the PM makes such a big deal out of the "@" in the shorttext page....

something like:

A,
<message>
Thomasina

??

Does that help anyone??

Whoa, KCPD-11 agent?! Pretty heavy accusations to be throwin' around! Nah, this seriously is my first ARG, and all of my posts have been in this thread because this seems like a pretty young ARG, and I wanted to be in one where I didn't have to do a buncha catching up... and I don't really have time to participate in much else on the forum.

Seriously, I was surprised to get an email from Methargo, or whatever it is that has the fixation with @s. I thought it'd go to someone with a bit more experience with this ARG. So unless the PMs are using me as a 'puppet' themselves without me knowing, I as much idea of what's going on as anyone else.

Anyways. Yeah, 'bottomcode' probably does mean that GMail error code, cos I use gmail, and I ain't never got no error codes like that before. And yeah, the base 64 thingy does nothing. JimK's idea sounds good... we should take a look at all the messages that we've got before, and try and draw some conclusions from that.

EDIT: Besides, isn't KPCD-11 supposed to be a satellite tv station or something? Me, an agent of that? That doesn't even make sense!
