SOLVED: A day in fairy land AND letter to sarah

AHA! I knew it! The numbers in the letter to sarah (in the auctioned tilebox) was a key to be applied to the "A day in fairy land" book. When ALH posted the note that came with the book, I already had a solid idea of how to go about it but obviously could not solve it until the pages were posted. Big thanks to ALH for the huge effort in getting those scans to us. Cool

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The revelant parts of the note that came with the book are:
"Numbers of fairies and elves on each leaf"
and
"Each paragraph may hold surprises
In the words and letters you see"

In the letter to sarah the numbers in each set of five stood for (in order):
number of faires, number of elves, paragraph number, word number and letter number.

For example, 3 9 3 5 3 would be solved by finding the page that has 3 fairies and 9 elves (page 9 if you count the cover, page 8 if you dont), in the page of text preceding it, look for the 3rd paragraph, 5th word and the 3rd letter in that word. It's "N" in this case.

2 6 2 2 2 would be "L"
5 0 3 15 6 would be "P"
etc.

Do the same thing for all the other sets of 5 numbers. Read off the letters by COLUMN and the message is:

"NINE EXIST ETERNALLY THE MYTH PERCEPTIONS OF EACH AGE"

Oh, on page 13 (counting the cover as page 1) I only count 4 fairies and 4 elves but I think it's meant to be 4 faires, 5 elves in the solve. Either that or I'm blind.

It doesnt google so my guess is that it's one of thouse open ended things for us to spec on. Confused But this is concrete evidence that Sarah is somehow tied to all this.
