How do they know...

Ok, I may be being very dumb, but does anyone know "how" the people in perplex city *know* that the cube is on earth? Was there a note left? Did they have a tracker on it? I tried looking, maybe Im just being stupid and there was an explanation, but anyone?

(Btw, hi Im Dan Smile Been a lurker for a while, thought Id join and...attempt, to help, lol)

Erm...not a dumb question at all really...as far as I remember we were told that it was here by Sente. For a bit I was worried that "Sente said so" (subsequently S 3 ) was the only answer, but there is other more independant info (although not independant of the Academy) such as Kurt's blog (Archives August 31 and September 16 for example).

As for those in PXC...erm...S 3 ? I seem to remember Sentinel articles (although I can't put my hands on them at the mo) to that effect. I guess we have to keep an open mind that it's on Earth at all and this is just a nefarious plot to get us lot to do something terrible on Sente's behalf whilst he remains blameless (although he may lose the love of two plucky daughters and Kurt in the meantime). That last sentence was pure spec Wink

Anybody else think of some indication independantly of the Academy that it's on Earth?

Cheers that has cleared up quite a few questions I had about the cube. Thought it might just be on perplex city in a bush or something, lol. Although Im still thinking there is a possibility that someone has managed to build maybe a shield around the cube so it cant be tracked. If they were able to steal it, you never know what they have. Also with the talk of spys, you never know who may be giving that information. I dunno, it probably is on earth, Ive been reading way too much about the city 2day, lol! Cheers Mike!

Yeah I had a read through it, yet still I think its a possibility that its still not on earth. Also if it is on earth, how are we going to give it back to them? Simplest answer is they'll figure out a way magically, or mind candy will "hold it" for them...and then season 2 starts, cube is stolen again and we have 24 hours to find it or bauer gets shot...sorry, wrong thing isnt it Shocked lol. All Im saying is, we cant be sure...

The "how do we get it back" is one fFor the ages. I'm thinking, in fFact, whoever fFinds it may be allowed to hold on to it as a sort of trophy. Which means it will either get picked up and wind up on e-bay fFor a fFew grand, or else put on display in some pub or something random.

If they do get to keep it, it'll be hushed up for the game, because why on earth (or rather why on perplexia) would they not want it back after all the effort they've gone to (in-game wise, lol). Then when the cube is found, comes "cube merchandise, get your own cube!" lol

I just thought of something...

If their tracking system relies on the tracing of emitted subatomic particles (see: radioactivity), even more so that they can't be cloaked, shouldn't we be just as able to do the same with a Geiger counter? If a radioactive metal cube were to be held by the Third Power in a first-world nation (hypothetically), how has it not been run by the government for its handling? Is it being properly contained? If it reacts with water, how does it stay inactive in a partially saturated atmosphere? Maybe we should report this to a research facility with the proper tools for tracing emitted neutrin particles and let them handle the Death Square. A hundred thousand pounds from Sente won't pay away serious cancer or harmful side-effects, now will it?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
OOG: Yeah, I know I'm being a real jerk about it. It's just that these questions should be inevitable. Call a mass-scale Geiger counter the ultimate brute-force. Laughing
