Actually I was just having a think about it and I believe the update said that they would prefer teams of six so more people can play, so perhaps we can have the teams we want/already set up as long as 1 or 2 people in the team was invited? so 200 odd teams running around london like headless chickens! lol

Suddenly, being from "Amurrka" with a much smaller base of other PXC players in the area has its advantages... Rolling Eyes

Best of luck in the lotto, or whatever they use to pick, you guys! Very Happy
(Still a pity; at least it was an overabundance, am I right?)

Hmmm I'd think the opposite really. I doubt they expect teams with only a few actual invitees in them and then lots of hangers on. I expect they want the event to be won by people who they actually have down as playing.

The other way is wishful thinking ...

First come first serve would perhaps be fairest.

Or maybe they'll make a mandatory age limit. According to their printed rule every 16 year old or under needs adult supervision. That means there'll be people dragged along just to supervise who could potentially take the place of people who want to actually be there.

Just a thought...

Well we will just have to wait until they email people to find out!

Absolutely, I don't envy Mind Candy one iota on this, there will be complaints from those who don't get to participate whatever method they choose to employ.

To echo the thoughts of a number of previous posters however, I'll be going, whether "playing" or not, there is alcohol to be drunk and friends to be made.

Now...how about we just wait patiently until we get told who made the cut eh? Mind Candy aren't going to change their minds over the selection process, and I doubt seriously that it'll be open to debate - I'm sure it will be as fair to all entrants as is humanly possible.

Yours hopefully,

J

Anyone here going to the New York event? I can already tell it is going to be much smaller. I'm gonna try and make it, but I don't know how well that one is gonna go. Hope to see you all there

First page should answer that question.

We really need somewhere to make good, solid rosters for both events.

And all you London players... go handle your own organizational problems. Razz

I would love to go to the NY event. Loooooove to go. If it were over a weekend, I'd seriously consider making travel plans. But, alas, I have to teach in Florida during the event, so I can't very well be up the east coast that night. Confused Here's hoping they have another! And here's hoping it's a bit more south... Cool

Yeah. I wish they were having more than 2 events. 1 in Boston, one in LA and another one down south somewhere would be awesome. There are quite a few places in Boston you could hold this event. Stupid Mind Candy and only doing 2 places Sad

You can tell by MC's response of limiting the amout of people allowed to come that they totally under estimated the amount of people wanting to come to this event. So I think they will have a better idea on numbers next time and possibly will hold more than 2 events.

Yes, lots of people are, I think many of them just replied to Mind Candy and didn't post here as well.

I think we get the New York event because Mind Candy will be here for the Toy Show. They aren't flying over here just to have a party in a bar or to travel the US throwing free parties in bars just to advertise the game.

The way I see it, we are very lucky that they are going to be here and we get an event like this.
