It looks like it was put up on the 6th. However, as it wasn't closed until the 18th, when 600 people had applied. Based on a constant stream of signups, the 200 will have been filled (if they do it on first-come-first-served) on the 10th.

Thanks, sorry if I came across as rude.

Hiya all, I'm back!

Damnit, missed out on a live event... Buggerage, that's annoying.

Well, I've spent most of my last couple of months either on TV (see another post I'll write on that) and writing my essays. Yes. Essays. In maths. OMGWTFBBQ?!?!

Aaaanyway, I am sooo up for the next live event, just got to make sure I keep an eye out this time!

Jeb

WELCOME back Jeb,

Hope you can still make it down for a drink or two after the event!

Hi everybody,

First of all can I 'second' everyones sentiments towards that moody guy...

I have often been put-off posting on fora due to the malicious and 'clicky'
nature of the people who reside there.
But at Unfiction I have only found a positive supportive comunity
as willing to help a N00b as much as a hardcore long-time member.
Thanks guys.

The main reason I am posting is to ask what people make of the phrase:

Quote:
Team sizes will be between 4 and 6 players. We recommend 6 players, because this means more people can be involved in the games.

on the PXC website.

If there are 200 places surely it doesn't matter whether we are
in 4's or 6's as this would imply just a different number of teams.

Does this mean there is also a limit to the number of teams as well?
(e.g. 40 teams and if you don't join one you're still not in)
or that extra people can join teams but not go to the venue...

what does everyone else think?
Hopefully we'll find out soon.

Glad to see that we still have new people learning the wonders of PPC!

your post basically is the whole core of the problem we've been talking about. Is is 200 divided into teams of 6 or can we have 200 teams of 1 invited person plus mates to make 6? We wont know till Wednesday apparently.

But it's gonna be fun either way!

Jeb! I was becoming afraid we had lost you, which would mean the whole community would be just a bit lost ... I was quite afraid I Lost, you see.

I don't know if I am in the first 200, but in any case I'm away. Though it would have been good to get points and stay near the top, the main reason for coming to the event was meeting the people I've got to know through this forum. Oliver solved SOO many cards in the first wave. I would NEVER have solved Elucidate, Diffently Lethal or Polar on my own, for quite different reasons. I played a small part/held back the solving of the Angel's Key, but it was such a good feeling when it was solved. The solving of ARG, Don was incredible. All of which is why I joined and only look at Unfiction. One of the other fora irritated me cos there was so much telling people off for not spoilerising every little detail (rather than a solve, whoops recently). This forum is far more interesting. I've learnt about all sorts of things, crystals, codes and crypts which would never have come my way. I've almost finished Cryptonomicon, which was just sitting on the shelf. (The people I've been trading cards with have been very nice too).

Of course, this then brings up the question of what happens if one of the two hundred picked now cannot make the event or decides against it? Can we 'trade' or swap our place with another player who was unsuccesful? (I'm guessing not as I'm sure MC will have a reserves list for those who reject the invitation.)

Dammit, dammit dammit

I have friends coming to stay on the 25/6th, so can't make it - if I get picked, I'll sell my place on e-bay Wink

Regards, Stew
