Money to unfiction would be an idea though.

E-mail just through explaining the registration process properly Wink

In fact, answer all the stuff we were wondering about in this thread... anyone would think that they, at MC, were also reading it. Bonkers.

Quote:

Dear Player,

We are pleased to announce that the first PCAG London event will be taking place on Saturday 25th February 2006 between 12pm and 6pm. We'd like to thank you for your patience while we've been developing a registration system. The event has proved incredibly popular so far and has received over 600 signups; however, due to this large number, unfortunately not everyone will be able to participate in the event, as we can only cater for approximately 200 players.

On Wednesday afternoon (1st February), we will send you an email linking you to a registration website. On this website, you will need to re-enter your details to confirm you can attend the event in London. Please only do this if you are *definitely* going to come, as otherwise you may be taking a place away from another player. In order to make the process as fair as possible, we will be giving preference to people who sign up early, and to complete teams.

IF YOU ARE ALREADY ORGANISED INTO A TEAM:

Your team must nominate a single team leader, and this person should gather all of the email addresses of the team. It will be the team leader's job to create the team when the registration website goes live and enter the rest of their team's details. Once this is done, the other members of the team will receive an email saying that their details have been entered. Please note that you are not confirmed a place in the event at this stage - this will happen a couple of days later.

Teams must be between four and six players in total. *All* team members must have unique email addresses - if a member doesn't have one, please register one at a site such as Hotmail (http://www.hotmail.co.uk) or Yahoo (http://mail.yahoo.co.uk).

If you do not have enough people in your team and you'd like to participate with random players, then do not close your team and it will be filled with players from the random pool.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN A TEAM:

If you are not already in a team but would like to attend the event, you can select to be placed into the random pool. After the signups have been completed, the random pool will be placed into teams automatically.

The earlier you sign up to the website (or are signed up by your team leader), the higher preference you will receive. If you are not in a team, the earlier you enter into the random pool, the more likely you are to be selected. After a few days, this signup will be closed and you will then be notified soon after as to whether your team has received a place in the competition. Please remember that we only have 200 places (approx.) for this event.

If you or your team don't get a place, you are still welcome to come along and meet other Perplex City players, and watch the games, although depending on numbers you may not be allowed into the central game venue. Please see the coming registration website for more information.

Best of luck - we'll be in contact very soon!

Who ever goes to the NY event should get a copy of the rules for Twin Wheel and Clash. If they are played, that is. I'd be greatly interested in learning these games, as they are mentioned so often. Smile

Just out of interest, in response to some of the replies regarding lurkers, cheating and the nature of the game/ARG in general. There is a prize right? For the first person who gets to the cube? Now, i'm guessing that person will be there due to hints, clues, answers released on these boards, so therefore I'm guessing the the community minded winner will be sharing the 100k with all PC players?

2k to Unfiction

10k on a fucking big party for everyone.

No one is playing for the money and if they are, they're being a bit ghey about it all. This has been spoken about before on quite literally lots of threads. Have a look in the meta forums for the worldly opinions.

88k for yourself. Thats a bit ghey don't you think.

I'm sure many aren't playing for the money, but at this stage its not in sight. Maybe when it hots up, it'll be more competetive.

I've ocme into it late, so all the cards i have are solved already just about, but IF, and its probably a big IF, I do solve a card which hasn't been done, I sure as hell won't be sharing the answer. What's the point.

No, I think £88,000 is the complete opposite of ghey.

And conversely what would be the point in not sharing? What's the point in solving the card in the first place-why don't we just not bother with it all and watch old episodes of Ground Force instead.

how can we New Yorkers help our friends?

Now this is a useful idea. People from the UK/London event-- or anyone else- need to post a list of things they want us to find out at the New York event. (and these should be things we reasonably have a chance of ascertaining, not "hey Adrian, where is the cube" or "so...when we find the cube how do we get it back to Perplex City?", and all those sorts of pesky questions, which would be fun, but pointless to pursue.)
