[EMAIL] 1/6/2006 Stevie

Here's the latest email from Stevie. First, what I sent her:

Hi Stevie,

We have all been thanking grumpyboy a lot! We were getting frustrated with that quiz puzzle, but once again it was right before our eyes the whole time. It reminds me of this other puzzle my friends told me about. Something about the square root of 64 backwards inside a circle... I never worked on that one, but I hear they worked on it almost three weeks! Anyway, I'm glad this one didn't take that long.

The daddy promise phrase is a good idea. And if he made a daddy promise to be watching out for you now, even if you can't see him, you can be sure he's keeping his word even now.

Stevie you make the best connections and analogies. I love the way your mind works! I think our friendship is very much like in A Horse and His Boy. We're working towards a common goal, helping each other along the way. Our journey isn't to get to Narnia (wouldn't that be nice), but instead to get to the bottom of these mysteries with your daddy, Mr. Rasmussen, the smell in the garden, Raidar's password... I think they're all connected and we need to find out what's going on! So yes, our friendship is very much like that. But one question... am I the Horse or the Boy? ;o)

The mess in your experiment kit is interesting to me. Stevie, I think you should go through all the parts of the kit and compare what you have to the list of contents, which should either be on the box or on a piece of paper inside of it. See if you are missing any chemicals or anything or if anything has been partially used. If so, let me know as soon as you can! That could be a clue to the mystery!

Thanks for letting me know about the evacuation of the station. Anything little like that could be a clue to this mystery. We'll keep Seth up informed, too. Speaking of Seth, I bet he has been on Davi's mind lately. I think those two should be good friends and who knows...maybe more?

Stevie, I've got an idea! You should talk to the Bubble Bop chef and ask him to make a special dinner for two for Seth and Davi. Then invite each of them separately and make them think that you want to have dinner with them. Then when they show up, you and Raidar can go back to your apartment and Seth and Davi can have a special dinner together! What do you think?

Let me know ASAP about the experiment kit and any ideas you may have about Raidar's password. I'll keep talking to my friends about it.

Your fellow detective,
Caspian

OK, yeah, I'm immature sometimes, I'll admit it. Anyway, her reply:

Hi Caspian,

I was glad to see you in chat yesterday!

You are very smart, but not as stuck up as the horse was. You are also carrying me closer to finding my daddy! I can just feel it!

Nothing is missing from the chemistry sets, but things were taken out of their compartments and stuff and just smooshed back in the box. All the little weights were in the bottom loose. It just makes me feel mad that someone looked at it and didn't put it back where it belonged. They didn't even ask if they could look at it I bet! Because my daddy would have made them put the stuff away correctly.

I don't have any new ideas about the password yet. Sometimes we use the first letters from a sentence like "Mae Family Likes To Sing Songs" or the letters on the left upper corner of the pages of a book, things like that. I know Daddy changes the one for work a lot. I have tried the ones we have been able to think of so far, and some that Alexandra's mommy has suggested. Raidar doesn't do anything when we try them. Mommy said if we don't figure it out sometime soon, she will have to send him to the repair shop in Taiwan to have them open it.

I asked Mommy about doing the special dinner thing for Davi and Uncle Seth. She said that sometimes putting people together like that is not a good idea and can make people feel uncomfortable. She said she would watch Davi and Uncle Seth and tell me if she thinks it is a good idea tomorrow.

I'm not really a detective, I just wish I was one. Uncle Seth calls me a detective in training.

Your detective in training,
Stevie

Perhaps we should keep Raidar's password in focus as well. I know we're all hung up on static right now, but she certainly seems to be mentioning Raidar a lot.

Re: Another possible password

Hi Alexandra!

It was fun talking to you in the chat room yesterday! I hope they let me do that again some time!

I tried the password you suggested but it didn't work either.

Yesterday we were at the Laundromat cleaning our clothes, and Raidar was acting a bit strange. He walked off to the back of the Laundromat and was wagging his tail for a bit. Then he walked behind a large machine. I went to go see what he was doing but he was just standing there being a dog I guess. He followed me back to where Davi was sitting, and then he kept looking back at the machine. I asked him what was wrong and he said nothing was wrong. I bothers me a little bit. Normally he stays where I can see him. I don't want anyone else trying to steal him!

I have been playing with my soda pop chemistry set and made lip gloss today. We also are making rock candy in the orbiteria cafeteria and used lifesavers instead of paper clips to hold the string down inside the sugar water. I can't wait until they are nice and big crystals of sugar!

Our weather is always the same here, not too hot and not too cold. Sometimes I wish it was winter, at least it would be a change.

Stevie
