Perhaps they sent the most grovelling emails? Possibly they're MC's favourite people in the whole world? Or maybe they've all been really bad and that was their punishment.............

I'm rather glad I wasn't chosen, seeing how it turned out to be sooooo chaotic!

My email said "I really don't want you dead, sign me up."

That is all.

It was rather chaotic, wasn't it? Razz

No suck-up email here--mine was one line: "If there's any way I can help out, just ask. I'll be available on Sunday." That's it. Other than the fact that I emailed Kurt as soon as I saw his request for volunteers, I can't think of any good reasons as to why I was chosen.

I only sent,

"Be careful. VERY careful. Tell me how I can help."

It's not a prize - they just needed some moderators (enough to ensure full coverage during the event time). I figured we were selected based on availability (ie, out of those who had answered the email) and perhaps just general knowing-what-is-going-on-ness and participation. Sensibility can't be hoped for Razz

Yeah, mine was "I'm your man" and nothing else, so it wasn't chosen based on the email.

To:Kurt
From:beglee

Im up for whatever is needed, count me in! Smile

Say it loud. Say it proud. Ba-Na-Na.

The First Rule of Moderator Club is...Er...I don't know, but if we *had* a set of rules, it would probably be "No running/bombing/petting/peeing in the pool". We don't know the criteria, personally I'm guessing it was largely down to the position of Mars in conjunction with Saturn - but really, we have better things to yak about, move awaaaay from the thread. Smile

Amen, Juxta. Smile

If you really want to know why Kurt picked who he picked, you could always try asking him. He's been known to chat on occasion, or he may answer you via blog entry. I have a feeling this was mostly a case of good old-fashioned luck, though!

My email:
"Even though helping you will probably fall somewhere between 1-7am for me, all I can say is,
It's on like Diddykong."

I think it was the Diddykong bit that did it for me.
