I'm guessing this only because it was my son's favorite movie for years:

The Hunt for Red October.

other sub movies...

that one where the submarine sinks K-19: the Widowmaker

Below was too awful for Rogi to have seen it, so I'm not guessing that one.

In Enemy Hands?

Actually, due to my son's love of submarine movies, I think I've seen everyone one ever made....which makes me a little sad. The best one ever is an old one, Run Silent, Run Deep, which is a black and white movie starring Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster. If you're looking for a movie about submarines- try that one. Hunt for Red October is my second favorite. (I omitted Das Boot because that is more of an intellectual movie than a sub movie, in my crazy personal designation of movies)

Here is a sub movie database: http://submarinemovies.com/

PS. Puppy Zwolle made this beautiful avatar for me, thanks Puppy. Smile

Het: Right continent. Wrong country. This movie was even more intense and scary in it's own way than Munich was.

With the exception of a submarine or two, I don't think there was any nuclear power anywhere near where most of this movie takes place..

My initial thought was Munich. Now I'm pretty sure it's that.

I feel like I've recognize this paper. I mean, I think it's the Trib, but from the movie in question. I'm probably wrong, but All the President's Men?

A little older (The movie, itself. Not necessarily the period. This one takes place in the "middle" of after Good Shepherd).

Goodbye Lenin!
or
The Princess and the Warrior(Der Krieger und die Kaiserin)

ETA: I'm more confident in the last guess, now.
