Getting closer.
This girl is about 3 years younger than Genevi�ve Bujold, is British and gravitates toward villainess roles.

The male lead in this flick shocked a lot of fans who couldn't envision him in anything but a tuxedo, dinner jacket or perfectly tailored suit.

Awesome guess, ryandrew, but I can't see James Mason in either a wedding gown or an outfit consisting of red boots, ammo belts and red leather speedo or sporting a ponytail.
~~The lead actor in this film and James Mason do have something else in common, however. As Knights Bachelor, they share the title "sir".~~
Edit: Mason was never knighted.
