OK I thought novecento was spanish. Sorry. Yes the movie is in spanish. Had general release in the US (at least) with subtitles. Does it help if I say, more specifically, Mexico?

it was somewhat recent (its just the bad quality of my screenshots)

this still should DEFINITELY give it away. it's a pretty memorable thing to see.
