1) I don't check the list for past guesses. List is too freakin' big.

2) After five years, we're bound for some inadvertent repeats. List is too freakin' big; we're going to run out of movies.

Smile
Oh... I see what you did, there. Wink

Nope, let's keep trying.

I think we're still working on this one?

I see a rotary dial phone, so that should help date at least the story (not necessarily the film itself), and tags on house keys like a landlord might put on rentals (or a man with multiple hiding places), a certificate (maybe a deed or a stock share), a gun (i can't see a revolver action, but the whole thing looks vaguely European to me, for some reason), cufflinks, shoe trees, and the rest is too vague for me to itemize.

well that helps me not at all.

oh what the heck, i'll guess James Bond.

While the kid looks like he's something out of the '50s, the Remington and Winchester ammo boxes behind the counter are from some time, much later. The Winchester Super X was a yellow box through the '60s and turned silver around Y2K. I was thinking it might be a flashback scene, but the other pics seem like they're supposed to be '50s,as well (Those Kwikset keys weren't like that in the '50s, though.) Filmed in sepia?
I'm drawing a blank.
Can't find any likely hits at http://www.imfdb.org either.

ETA: The Kwikset "K" blank design was introduced in 1958.

*nods* And just like Vegeta we strive for excellence and are baffled by ... well I expressed my admiration pretty explicit already I think. ;^)

Still. Not a frame closer to the question at hand though.

And all of a sudden it doesn't look like a 50/60's movie anymore. Curiouser and curiouser.

Very much an 'outsider' guess as it looks like a 'the good shepherd' type movie:
"The Good Shepherd"?

The star of this movie is up for an Academy Award this year.

(You'll get another still tomorrow)

Now here is a epic stunt if there ever was one (within the context of this thread of course Wink ).
Screen shots from a movie never seen.

I'm now suspecting the Oscar reference is about Colin Firth BUT the spy movie he is in is still in post production. Wouldn't it be gruesomely wicked if it actually was:
"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"

That would be supremely unfair. No, this movie has done been released.

This is the first film by the director, who made his name outside of the film world.
