 		[THEORY] CausePoet, Davina, and Cassandra
Ok.. we just had an incident which made me realize that, although we've been tossing the concept around in #orbtial, we've never posted it thus peopel who werent around for the conversations dont know.

As Seth has suspected and soem other evidence supports, we may have a spy either on the Station or in our own midst, or both.

Lately, the people on #orbital such as myself, AmberJoy, Lisa, Tom, and others have become suspecious of a chatter in #inquiringminds known as CausePoet. We beleive she may be a character and a spy... possibly workign for The Inept (though she could feasibly be working for others as well)

Our evidence (as circumstantial as it is)

    -She claims to have visited the Maldives

    -She claism to be very into Biology - makes a tenous connection to The Inept

    -She consistantly refuses to join #orbital for very flimsy reasons. This is our most conclusive piece of evidence as IG characters can't go into #orbital as it is officially OOG

    -She has never posted anywhere on the forums, nor has she been seen in #unfiction

    -Her behavior in #inquiringminds is. slightly suspecious at times.


Until we have verification either way, we should nto share ANY critical information with her. A couple of us, liek myself plan to chat with her when we see her.. try to probe, discreetly, into her background and beleifs for further incrimination. I've made some phoen calls to Bio Major friends of mine for talking points.

This is a heads up... until we know more watch what you say around CausePoet.

I think this could safely apply to Seth as well, his behavior since finding the data chip seems very odd to me. It will be interesting to see if either of them show up in chat soon. If Seth has most of the information he needs, what is left to talk to us about? And we have no hints as to what his password might be do we? Did anyone ask Davina about her travel in November?

 		Pewrsonally, I still trust Seth. He's given us reason to before, althoguh he's beign paranoid now.

CausePoet has not and is the best fit for a spy, imho.

 		Heh, it will be interesting to see what happens next with Seth. For some reason gmail is down for me, so if anyone emailed me from the game, I won't be able to retrieve it.

If Seth is on the level, then I hope he is very careful. I am sure that whoever was spying on him noticed that the password was changed on Seth's journal. This means at the very least that the spy will know that Seth is onto him or her, which could make them dangerous.

About the chats with CausePoet, she or he was only in one chat log I could find, but I think there must be other interactions not posted. In the log I found, I don't think we revealed anything super secret or that would come back later to be used against Seth. As the forums are OOG, CausePoet couldn't have used our forum for solves or info. I am trying to remember, but I think we spent most of that time trying to figure out how to solve repairshops.gif. Did I miss something? Could we have revealed something that was later used against Seth? I don't think the planned meeting with Clappert came up. Or that Davina was getting the logs from security for Seth....

 		The thing is, CP has been present for every chat.. she often just doesnt talk during them. Usually we talk with her after them, or when Seth isnt aroudn it seems...

Secondly, we know she has access to Seths email. Seth go ta hint on one of the puzzles from her once, which means he could have been sendign her similar emails. She also appears to have access to Inquirign Midns.. I beleive one of us may have told her once.

Its quite possible that if she, herself, is not on the station that sh eis workign with someone who is.

 		I'm confused (take a drink) I dont see her name in any other logs posted, if you have other logs and you don't think they should be posted, that is fine - but maybe you could edit out the parts that show where she is getting access to info that later hurt Seth?

Now I wonder if she will be back at all. If she is a player, like the rest of us, I hope she understands this paranoia and doesn't take it personally. If she is a spy.. would she show up again? Will Seth show up again? Stay tuned Smile

If she's a spy, she doesnt knwo we're on to her yet since she doesnt read the boards...

If she's a player, well... *shrugs* I'm sorry for the accusations.

I for one think it possible -- bears further investigation. Making smalltalk with Causepoet certainly can't hurt.

There is much more of causepoet being helpful in finding things we need and trying to solve the puzzle. Do we think two PMs were in chat trying to help us solve this? It is possible and it adds a fun dimension to the story.

I am sensitive to the possibility of players being accused based on paranoia. I know that we have many new players in this game, and I am very glad to have each one of you here. Still, some people were critical of my promoting this game on the IGDA boards, which are obviously OOG, as if that was a way a character would obtain and use information. I think the combination of Ehsan and xnbomb assuring them that wasn't the case was sufficient to convince them. Very Happy

So I am trying to nicely say that we shouldn't jump to any conclusions.
I hope that whether she is a character or a player CausePoet returns at some point so we can talk. I am curious to meet her. Smile

 		She hasn't been staying away. She's been in #inquiringminds a couple times, usually while [a]. And though she said that, she has never given us any information really... Isee no reason to trust her. Her suspecious behavior outweighs any other behavior.

 		We've had a few mroe talks since then.. in which CP continued to be evasive regardin #orbital. And remember, she was present at many of the chats with Seth, she just didnt talk.

 		Wish i had known all this earlier. From seeing these chats it is obvious she is just probing for information, it's all one-way traffic with her.

In future it might be wise to actually post OOG theories like this (which was apparently mooted a good while ago), so that people who happen to be on the other side of the world (mentioning no names but certainly including me) and can't stay up for the odd elusive middle-of-the-night chat can keep up to speed with it all. Or else we leave ourselves unnecessarily open to exploitation by people who have no genuine interest in helping our cause, and possibly jeapordise the mission in the eyes of Whoever. Keep talking guys!
