[NEWS] 03/01/06 - TALES FROM EARTH E-mail from Ellen @ Seaside regarding tfe:
Quote:
Dear David,
Thank you for sending over the manuscript on 29th December; we've been poring over it here at Seaside, and intend to send it to the printers very soon. As you requested earlier in our discussions, we will be accrediting Violet Kiteway with co-author/researcher status and we will be happy to assist her in any requests she has with the Academy Library and Archives.
As for printing copies of Tales from Earth on Earth, we are currently in discussions with Mind Candy with regards to logistics. I will let you know as soon as I have more news on when you can expect your copies.
Yours sincerely - and Happy New Year,
Ellen Moriyama

Have you told Violet she can get in touch with Ellen and get into the Library?

Nope. Every time I try and contact Violet I just get the bounce-back message. I was assuming that Seaside would communicate this to Violet as all of the communications about the book in the past have gone through Ellen.
We can drop Violet a line if you think it's worth it, but I'm sure word will 'get out '...

Wonder if Ellen will ever get back to me about that continuation book deal?
I want to be a celebrity in another universe.
EDIT: I want to save that puzzle for my PM interviews.

Sorry to report that there has been nothing out of Seaside since they accepted the manuscript and gave Violet the author credit needed to move the story forward.
Will chase them if I hear nothing by end-of-week.

I wrote to Ellen regarding the book and have just got the following:
Quote:
Dear David,
We are still in the process of formatting the Earth-based edition, and readying it for print. I anticipate it will still be several weeks before we can provide you with your copies.
In the meantime, we would also like to publish the book online on our site under the Creative Commons website. If you could assist with this effort - in other words, correctly formatting the book for HTML - we would much appreciate it. Please let us know, and then we can give you more details.
Yours sincerely,
Ellen Moriyama
I'm not really that much of a wizz with HTML so if anyone wants to have a go at this I can provide the relevent text and images?
[edit] - Perhaps we can convince them to get it ready for an official launch at the New York and London events?

At least we are now sure there will be a 'real' book being printed.

If they do then we could do some book signings.

Do you need me to forward you the texts and images or do you still have copies?
