My 1st accusation to Phyllis

sorry this was supposed to go just before my letter of apology for accusing her husband of the crime.
I saw that the email was posted on the news site and felt I had to get on the defense before she did

Dear Phyllis:

Just to let you know that my professors name is not Penrose. He said that he may have taught him a long time ago and he thinks that he left under a dark cloud if he remembered correctly.
There is much I want to discuss with you but before I can proceed with our friendship any further I must ask you why you leaked our correspondence to the Aglaura press. I would have never disclosed my personal correspondence. I will give you the benefit of the doubt because I believe in your sense of propriety. I am shocked beyond belief.
On the other hand if you did not leak this information then you really have a right to be paranoid. If there is someone after you then it is not paranoia.
Who would have leaked this information to the press? Do you keep your passwords to your computer written down somewhere? I don't want to point any fingers but where was your husband the night of the burglary? Does he have access to your computer?
I am really sad to ask these tough questions but something surely is strange....
What was that painting of anyway? I cant blame you for hiding a valuable painting. I sure hope that you had it insured.
I am very concerned for you Phyllis. Are you going to seek counseling for the trauma that you experienced at the hands of those madmen who burgled you? I mean no offense but I had a gun held to my head in a robbery and only missed having a bullet in my brain by seconds. It took me a long time to get over it. Had nightmares and I never knew when I would break down in tears. I am concerned that these thieves might have a hand in leaking our correspondence. You need to look closely at who would want to bring you down and who had opportunity.
Oh this is dreadful. I have more questions for you but I am quite overcome by all that has happened to continue tonight.

Sincerely,
Sunny

Sunny,

I found this odd.

Quote:
I think you have been using me like everyone else. All my life. Being
used, using...
Do we get what we give or do we give what we get? I am who I am
because others have made me so.
When do I get to be who I am?

Since you are on such good terms with her, anyway you can ask her what she means? I would like to know who she has used and who made her the way she is. She feels so sorry for herself, but if she has used people....
Maybe she is getting what she deserves.
Now how you should go about asking her, I have no idea. She trusts you, so hopefully she won't take offense.
Or maybe I could play "bad cop" (or someone else) and you could keep playing "good cop"? Surprised Question

I don't think it was a planted Mole who forwarded the email...

It might have been someone just trying a different story "angle"?
It doesn't seem like the sort of thing a Mole would do...I think that anything a planted Mole would be involved in would have more of an impact on Dale or the storyline. I mean the PMs had Sam print a retraction and apology, would they neccessarily do that if the whole thing were their idea in the first place?

Actually Sunny asked Sam just prior to the last chat, if he could remove the e-mail and put down a retraction. (Sam is the proverbial innocent middle man who's outside of the loop.)

Sam hasn't answered yet, who sent him that e-mail, but then he's currently swamped with work, so some allowances on our side has to be expected.

Oh and IF it is another player trying another story angle, then why not ask Sunny's permission to use the material?? Least one can expect is some common courtesy..

Just my op. on the Mole thing...

We can/should be able to figure out the identity and then perform some damage control though. What's the point of Immersion, if you can't add your own twists to the tale??

It's rather like the open-ended vs scripted argument in computer games. A regular player will think of ways to try and manipulate the game enviroment in such a way (all in the name of solving a puzzle), that the game designers are having a hard time keeping up.

In a scripted game, the player has little chance to wiggle, in an open ended game has plenty room for wiggling. ARG's are supposed to have more in common with open ended games, than scripted ones. Meaning that if we want to nail the mole to the wall with very long nails, that we should be able to do so. Razz

I never suggested what the person did was an acceptable method of game play. And personally, if I wanted to use someone else's material for an idea I had...I would ask first. But what I am suggesting is that you can't exactly control everything everyone does on a public forum. There are a lot of people registered for CTW that come here to view information but aren't active members.

The plan may have worked in a controlled environment of 15-20 people....but with 500+ people registered for CTW I just don't see how the person who forwarded the email could be discerned.

Again...people have differences of opinion on this. I agree that we affect the story/plot in minor ways and quite possibly with a larger impact at certain points in the story. (Sort of like those books you read where one choice leads one way and another leads down a different path). But IMO we only have an effect at those points that we've been scripted to feel like we have had an effect.

I am certainly not saying there isn't a Mole, I just don't think it was the Mole who forwarded Sunny's email. I am also not saying that we won't have to ferret out this Mole according to the storyline at some point, but I think it will probably been done in such a way as to utilize the "group effort/mentality".

Anyway....everyone has their opinions, I'll let mine rest and just play the game. Very Happy

Is there a mole

I say there is a mole and its prob someone thats posted a lot and have lead us in the right or wrong direction everytime. Now the question is whom is that mole. Now we know the mole will never be revealed unless its supposed to be revealed. That is unless someone just reads the post and takes out what will ruin everything. Now one of those spirited elements coulddo it without caring that we are reffering to them as a game. We are believers in the game maybe the Dead Eyes are watching are every moment. There is no question the PMs no this forum is taking place. Honestly there is no way of getting around that except by PMing info you want to pass around and even that can be intercepted if its sent to the wrong person.

with all that I'm gonna go to sleep[/code]
