Okay, I havn't contributed to this thread yet but I've been following it closely. SteveC, although I usually respect you as a player, but I think that is an awful idea! Kurt is in enough trouble as it is without mentioning his name. I think (as do a few others) in future all posts to the Hesh intranet need to be approved by at least 3 unfiction members before its sent. We are not working together!

jojojojo, Kurt is about the only person we have on our side in this matter, we have proven that they won't post the passwords to the boards, and I don't know of any way we could "cloak and dagger" communicate directly, especially posing as a member of staff.

For what it's worth, TINAG, but lets face it, it is. MC are going to be receiving all sorts (for instance, my rather witty previous post attempt from Helix Hesh suggesting a game of Mornington Crescent). They're either waiting for one that they feel they can play with, or they've got one in mind. They'll have to ignore the rest, this community, even if it were toact completely as one, are not in control of the players.

Anyway, what am I supposed to do when there's no call for programming skills or google l33t g00g13 search skillz in the game? Wink

Or the third way?

Has someone emailed Violet and asks her to crash the Thursday night poker game?

(was troutable, isn't now, just checking Wink)

I wasn't having a dig SteveC, I accept what your saying, but I feel uneasy about the whole thing. I don't think I can bear another period of worrying about Kurt, and the dreadful punnage and limericks that went with it. Smile

And SteveC, you still deserve a trout. Skipping pages 9-15 of the thread indeed. Smile

There are other people playing perplex city as well as us on unfiction, so they are bound to post whatever they want, or try their own. Im sure MC knows this and they are just trying to help everyone out in this matter. Sure theres going to be some awful posts that people put up, but MC is not going to hold it against us. As for getting approval for each post, I just think we should just post them up and find out (although sensibly). We arent the only people trying to do this, we cant force control.

Has anyone tried anything around the proposed Museum Of Music Summer Festival (Sentinel article) ?

I've just submitted a new thread on it, under Elaine Itkin (new MOS, and non-poster so far). I'm not sure how we can use it, but it seems too much of a link to me

I am not clear what we are trying to achieve.

We have a tip off that
Quote:
Helena Frye is an agent of the third power

Now we seem to be trying to tell her who tipped us off.

Do we think that Helena's actions at Gillett Road looked suspicious? Did she deliberately avoid catching anyone other than Kurt?

If she is 3P we should try to contact the person who tipped us off. My vote would be for the first person to leave Hesh resords after we first emailed them that there is a hidden track on the CD. Reading the posts I can't tell when this first email was.

I would suspect Jinhing McGovern who left 19/12/268 is the person who tipped us off as the timing seems best.

Can anyone confirm when emails were sent to Hesh.

Once we think we know who it is we should ask Kurt to look them up to see what he can find out.

I agree with you, ER123456--I'm not terribly certain why we're trying to help Helena catch whoever left the messages on The Silver City, either. ONE of these people is the bad guy, and I'm concerned that it really might be Helena.

Anyway. I emailed Kurt about the email we got from Helix a little while back saying that we needed to talk to the sound engineer as well as giving him the names of the three engineers that are no longer employed at Hesh.

Shortly thereafter, Kurt made his most recent post that basically said, "Get into the file system, people!"

So giving Kurt the basic info and letting him do his own investigation isn't good enough. We need to figure out the password and root around in the file system. We need to figure out who specifically is responsible for the messages.

Right now, I think the best bet (since they won't post the password publicly, which I can't blame them for--their intranet is obviously too easily hacked by outsiders! Laughing) is to get Violet to go to their poker game and see if she can weasel the info out of someone. I mean, we know when and where, right? And she loves poker...Can't hurt to try. Very Happy

Or we can keep trying to post to their board until they lock it out. Whichever. Wink

I had always assumed Kurt would think things through before running to Helena with the information. If we can find the identity of the person who sent us that message, hopefully Kurt will get in touch with that person to see what he/she has to say.

Hm... it's difficult. We don't want to get Kurt killed, but one of these people (the informant or Helena) is bound to be a bad guy. Confused

Shocked Now I'm worried about Kurt all over again!

(Mokey would like to request a new emoticon for /swoon so she can properly show her affection for both Kurt and Allain) Wink

Kurt is going with the belief that the informant was no informant, but a piece of a setup. The cops knew the third power would be there at gillit... Okay. The 3P planned to meet at gillit fFor something. Don't know what. They've been using the catacombs and empty subways fFor some time to nefarious ends. So they had an event scheduled. A drop-off? A heist? something. The police (and thus, fFrye) got word and planned a sting. they were going to storm in and arrest everyone. Then, the third power fFound out the police knew. So they needed a distraction. So they set us up, through Viard, to send someone to cause confusion. The message on the CD is totally fFrom the 3P. This explains the morse code which indicates the 3PGroupware has been infiltrated (by us).

Interestingly, had we told sente and the sentinel and the police and everyone about Gillit Road, it would have raised such a fFuss, the whole thing would have been exposed, the police would have informed us of their plans, and Kurt wouldn't be in the pickle he is in now.

Tra-la.

Update at hesh-intranet:

Judging from the quiet around here, it looks like our approval process is a success. You can now return, without worry, to your regular gabbing abut selling canoes and which tea should be stocked on what floor.

Looks like we can start submitting again, but more subtly

I propose an approval system for UF postings to the intranet.

You must write a draft and get the approval of at least three out the first five other board members who read it before posting.

Nothing too extravagant, easily modified, works as good measures.

Of course, nothing we can do about non-UF, but we can make good control of a fair percentage.

Maybe when Kevin said new employees he meant people who aren't even in the system.
We could post as a completly made up person asking for information on how to access the system. Something along the lines of "I've just started today, can anyone give me some information about how to use the intranet."
If everyone assumes that they are in someone elses dept then it might work.

I'm going to politely say no thank you to gaspar's suggestion. in the fFirst place it actually does place preferential treatment on uF members (which, as much as i like it here, other people do not) and second because while this is not a game, this is also not a parliament.

I will agree in spirit however that it is a nice idea to ask before you post a variety of possibly radical things, just to make sure you aren't completely off the wall.
