Oh don't try tempting me back into trying this.

EDIT: Nope I'm def out of this one. It requires a degree of technical knowledge I don't have (which incidentally I think is grossly unfair as I was looking forward to another challenge).

any small hints?

EDIT: well i got the pic just need to know what to do with it now Razz

Dos? Don't you have 'Command Prompt' in 'Accessories'?
(or Win+R then type cmd)

You could also use Win+R by typing location of executable (in double quotes) followed by necessary arguments.

both these methods work for me (although I use Win2k)

maybe it's because I'm not used to dos then, but when I try and open the program it just closes again. There's sthg in the help file about needing protected mode services, but any I've tried to download have been the wrong things

So Alisdair, have you opened up Command Prompt like Phant said, then changed directory to that of the program/picture before running the exe? I didn't need anything special to run the program on a WinXP SP1 machine, but I couldn't get it to work using the 'Run' feature, had to do it from the command prompt.

Hmm well i havnt got this far yet so i cant help you but if it closing as you opening it it may be because after the program has finshed running it is set to close instantly. You can try right clicking on it and properties and click on the program tab there should be a box labled "close on exit". If you uncheck this the program should stay open after it has finshed runing so you can see what is happening and if you are doing something wrong.

Although some types of dos file don't have a program tab in the proerties but i cant think which one off top of my head

Not sure what protected mode services are but im to tired to think at moment. I just hope I can catch you all up soon Razz. Still cant decrypt that first block of text Sad

Don't worry about the "Base64" bit until you are satisfied that you have done everything concerning the other two blocks.
