I've been looking at the 6 word code and I'm sure it's not a straightforward substitution cipher - the second word doesn't match any word in my dictionary (i.e. all letters different except the third and last). That leads me to think it's one of three things: it's not a substitution cipher, the second word is a name (so it wouldn't be in the dictionary) or the text isn't English (German text has a lot of capitilised words).

I really don't think its a substitution cipher either. Been playing with this for almost a week now
Has anyone managed to crack this keyword yet???
There's never a super computer around when you really need one!
Maybe the captials and spaces have been added to lead us up the garden path, as there are 34 characters could it be a paired cipher of some sort OR maybe i've just lost it

I'm guessing the plain text underneath is a clue, rather than a keyword, but not got anywhere down that route yet. The cipher could still be substitution, but not simple, e.g. a rolling Caesar cipher.
The 3rd & 4th words with there repeated g's, may give a route to go down, or the last 10 letter word.

I guess so, but as far as i've got with those two words as a clue is,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That the last word could relate to Genetically Modified food/crops, but i'm not sure there's a Genetic Cipher - although there are Genetic Algorithms which are being applied to various computing fields including optimization?

Anyone had any joy? I've got nowhere.
EDIT: For what it's worth my current idea is that the bottom line is the clue for the top line, in that the phrase is a

and I suspect the words in the code are also, which would explain the difficulty in solving, although how we would then get the answer I have no idea...

For info, although it's starting to feel like I'm the only one left, people have solved this screen, but as I'm still stuck, and for any others who may be, I've asked about the possibility of hints/ clues on PCT.

You're not the only one still stuck and working on this section of the trail. I haven't made any progress, and I've currently run out of things to try.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I tried to find clues on www.googlewhack.com but it isn't one of the 2000 most recent entries
I'll confront the challenge again tomorrow.
Edit: I should have solved this puzzle earlier. I'll try and hint on it:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Solving the 6 word cipher text turned out to be something that I thought I had tried already, but hadn't. Go back, try the obvious again, and don't try and make things unecessarily complicated.
Edit 2: The unfiction online tools section has useful links for lots of different types of puzzles.

You're not the only one - not feeling to bright about now
Well at least there's the live event on Wednesday to take my (clearly tiny) mind off the fact I just can't crack this one!

ok guys you're on the right track, the first block is clearly encoded with some kind of cipher but the other bit is plain text - the relevance of which you have already discovered.
persevere - and Don't be Skeptical that it can be done

Woohoo, got it! Thanks Phant, your nudges definitely helped.
I'm new to PXC (and unfiction... first post!) Found it through Boing Boing. I'm eagerly awaiting my first set of cards (England to North Carolina is a looong trip), and this helped pass the time. Thanks to the PXCT crew for setting it up!

thanks guys. got it at last, had tried that cipher but never thought to use that to break it!
OK I know who he is, no idea what to do with him, if it's another steg I'll have to wait until tonight to crack it..
EDIT: Doesn't seem to be steg, so I reckon it's

Is anyone past puzzle 3?
