205?! Shocked Silly

Hmm... 1,000-word essay is about 4 pages...
45,000 words, 4 x 45, 180...

Concievable, but amazing!

Well done us! Very Happy

Well, the book is being printed in a 6"x9" format. We're also using an 11pt font, and that's including a couple pages of biographies, the title page, table of contents, blank pages for spacing, etc.

Are we settled on giving any royalties to Unfiction? I've got everything all set to be sent off and Ellen asked what we would prefer.

Oh yes. royalties to unfiction. Definitely. We've been taxing the system fFar longer than any other ARG in the history of ARGs (which, i suppose, isnt saying much). unfiction should definitely reap the rewards of our effort. It's probably the only cause every single person here can agree on. except maybe travelling performer. bah.

Just some quick calculations:

All of these prices are aproximate, royalty free and include delivery:

UK

£8.25 (10-15 days)
£28.87 (4-8 days)

US

$18.69 (5 days)
$32.32 (Next Day)
$13.89 (2-3 days)
$10.81 (1-3 weeks)

These figures have been estimated using the lulu editors price calculator.

It's not like he contributed anything anyway. F' em, if he's so good at playing with himself, why's he even on here?

The manuscript and cover art has been sent out.

It was his idea to send Violet to the poker AND he did the whole Receda trail by himself.

So there.

Yeah. About that...

I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying it would be remarkably hard. Bear in mind he did it at the same time everyone did. Since he's in england, he could possibly spot the plane over manchester and i suppose he might have even been one of the handful of people to make it to Imperial College to get the receda's approach poster. However he can't really explain knowing about the receda sign movie clip which was in toronto. And he would somehow need to have made the magical leap over to the receda school of music (which, you will recall, was discovered by a dns lookup). And he certainly wasn't playing the receda's revenge game, either.

I'll grant he may have been fFollowing along. But no way did he do it all by himself with no help fFrom anyone but a couple fFriends. And him saying he did is supposed to impress me? bah. lies.

The joy -- the point of the game -- is in the joining WITH other people. It's a social thing, it really is.

As much as I enjoy a good TP? bashing, maybe we should think about this a little more critically before expressing our digust for him. The guy just really enjoys attention, and one of the best ways to get attention is to piss people off with bewilderingly ridiculous statements and immature behavior (I give you Exhibit A). What's the best solution for this problem? Ignore his intentionally provocative posts instead of responding in the manner that he has come to expect. Occasionally he does make a serious comment, and that's the side of him that we need to encourage. I have faith that either he'll eventually catch on to the spirit of the ARG community, or he'll leave us alone and continue playing with himself, as Centipede so aptly put it. Basically, we have to treat him like the 5 year old that he's been acting like up until now.

On a more on topic note, should the contributors be sending their address information to Seaside? And does the term "contributor" include the authors of the collaborative story? I just feel kind of odd about receiving a book for submitting a single paragraph.

Okay, none of you like travelling performer. Can we go back on topic now?

Without that paragraph the story wouldn't be what it is now, so I guess you should get a copy since you wrote for it.

Funny you should ask. Just got this e-mail from Ellen:

Ellen at Seaside Press wrote:
We have arranged for your book to be available from Lulu shortly. We are planning on a royalty
per copy of $1 after the initial group we send to the authors, does this sound adequate?

Before we send the book to the authors and make it more widely available, however, we would
like to send a single proof copy to a responsible party who can ascertain that the book is
formatted to your specifications, while corrections may still be made. To whom should this copy
be sent?

Also, as we will be providing copies of the book to authors, we will need address information
for each writer who would like a copy. Could you please arrange for each author to send us this
information?

Many thanks,
Ellen Moriyama

I'm guessing one of us editor types should look over the proof.
