3P

It worries me that if the 3P are possibly just puppets for another, bigger threat, that somewhere in the teams will be a player that's not really a player...

I'll be coming along to watch with the better half, and I also have a camcorder if it's needed. Has anyone in a team got a camcorder, that would be cool, to see it from a players perspective rather than us poor spectators!

Hiya Purple Smile

I don't think this is likely. After Clapham common they'd be daft to try the same thing again (especially as teams are likely to bring along their own ducking stool in order to test for 3P ringers

Augh, we didn't! We didn't...

Well?

Well, we did do the nose.
Anyway, sorry)

but more compelling for me...why bother? Anyone can go along and spectate without having to sign up and leave a record. Or contact people as they go outside (which we know at least some people will have to do at some point).

Are you going to be phoning in your contribution on Saturday from Rampton? Shocked

Update/Reminder E-mail about Sunday.

Pant wettingly exciting Smile As a quick reminder, in case we have to send lots of MMS's it might be worth getting one of those bolt-on packages (orange do these) that'll make it a bit cheaper to send plenty! Not sure about other networks.

Dear Player,

The London Live Event being run by the Perplex City Academy Games is now only a few days away. You're one of over two hundred players who are taking part in this first event, and there are a few things that we'd like to remind you of.

MOBILE PHONES

If you haven't given us your mobile phone number on http://events.perplexcity.com, you should do so now. We have updated the site so that your mobile phone number and full name will not be visible to any other players, including those in your team, in response to privacy concerns. However, you will still be able to view the email addresses of your other team members, so that you can get in touch with them.

The reason we need your mobile phone number is so that our system will be able to accept 'answer' texts and MMSs from you. This will be the primary way in which you will earn points throughout the day, and the more people in a team who can text in answers, the safer your team will be in case someone's battery runs out or if they can't get any signal.

TURN UP ON TIME!

Please remember that registration will be taking place at 12pm prompt on Saturday at the City Temple Church. It's very important for you to turn up on time so that we can get everyone registered quickly and begin the games.

BE PREPARED

Dress according to the weather. You'll be outdoors for much of the time, so if the weather forecast indicates that it's going to rain, don't turn up in T-shirt and shorts. You should also remember to bring:

- a map of central London
- a Zone 1/2 Travelcard
- your mobile phone
- a digital camera, if you have one (to use if you are having problems sending MMSs)

Make sure you know where City Temple Church is. If you haven't seen the information yet, log out of your account on the events site for a map and directions.

HAVE FUN!

Let's face it, things will go wrong on Saturday. Your team will miss the tube. There'll be a freak hailstorm. One of you will completely forget the principles of arithmetic. And we'll probably get one of the questions wrong.

Don't let that get to you. Above all, the most important thing to remember on Saturday is to have fun! You're going to get the chance to do all sorts of crazy and fun stuff that grown-ups aren't supposed to do any more - you're going to be running around London solving puzzles, building structures, breaking codes and outsmarting other teams. What could be a better way to spend a Saturday?

If you are under 16 and coming to the event, please can you contact us at londoneventSPLATperplexcityacademygames.com to let us know of your parent/guardian arrangements. Also, if you have not already, try and get in contact with the rest of your team before the event!

See you on Saturday,

The Perplex City Academy Games and Mind Candy

self-quoting...how modest.

Anyway, asked Mind Candy whether they had a ball-park figure for how many MMSs would need to be sent per team, and Adrian replied with about 10-20.

So assuming an even load between team members then we're looking at 2-4 MMSs each.

I shouldn't read too much into the Zone Twoness: I don't think Zone-1-only travelcards actually exist.

Scooped!

Challenges include:

Quote:
- Solving puzzles across a one mile square area of London.
- Forming a human chain between points in Trafalgar Square.
- Finding a painting via a maze map of the National Gallery.
- Creating a choir with other teams to sing in the centre of Leicester Square.
- Squeezing as many people you can into phone boxes.

Maybe we'll find that phonebox where we put the PXC sticker over the sex chatlines.
