Thoughts and experiences wanted from female (and male)ARGers

Four years ago (Jan 21, 2002 actually), a brilliant online journalist by the name of Barbie Mills* posted the following to Cloudmakers:

Subject: thoughts and experiences wanted from female cms

Hello,

I am looking for the thoughts and experiences of females that have been involved in this phenomenon for an article that I am writing. The article is about women and girls and the online gaming experience and will be published in the February edition of an online magazine(so the deadline is quickly approaching). If you are interested, please contact me at notadoll70 @ yahoo.com.

Thank you
Barbie Mills

As I aspire to follow in her footsteps**, I would love to update her article by taking a look at where we've come (as female gamers and game designers) over these past four years and, possibly, where we're going. So, in the spirit of Ms. Mills....

I am looking for the thoughts and experiences of females (though some male perspective on this would be cool to have!) that have been involved in this phenomenon for an article that I am writing. The article is about women and girls and the alternate reality gaming (woo! we have a name for it now!) experience and will be published in the next couple weeks on ARGN (so the deadline is quickly approaching and Jamesi, that rat bastard, is on my ass about this***... so help me out, would ya!). If you are interested, please send me a private message.****

Thank you,
Brooke Thompson

* Ok, so she was more of a character than an online journalist, but she was still brilliant!

** Yeah, it's hard to follow in the footsteps of someone that came out of your own mind, but that's not stopping me!

*** And, really, he's not on my ass. heck, he didn't even know that I was thinking about doing this article until last night. His response was more along the lines of "whatever, that'd be cool" than "get it on my desk by Tuesday morning or your fired!" He's a good man, that Jamesi. Barbie hearted him and so do I. And not just cause he hasn't fired me for not putting out.

(articles! get your minds out of the gutter, would ya... this is serious! and it's about girls and games and args and stuff.)

**** This will be pretty standard interview fare. I've got a couple of questions that I'll be asking and may or may not follow up with you for more information. A private message to the forums is great, but if you'd prefer and are active in IRC or on AIM, we can do it that way (imbri on IRC and mirlandano on AIM). No names and such will be used without your consent, etc etc etc

***** Oh, and please spread the word. I know that not everyone checks out the Meta section but this is more "Meta" than "News and Rumors." So, if you know of anyone that would be interested in participating but don't think they'll check down here, let them (or me) know. Thanks!
