[UPDATE / LIVE EVENT] Some clarification

I asked MC for some clarification on the 200 person rule, e.g. could otehrs join in with the teams even if they didn't get invites. The reply is

Quote:
The 200 player limit for the event refers to the number of players that we can
cater for. People who are not registered will not be allowed into the main
game venue, or to take part in game challenges. Of course, we can't stop other
people from coming along, and we have no problems with you bringing along
friends to watch, as long as they understand they cannot take part in the
games itself or come into the main venue.

Sounds as though it's not totally 'city wide' but has an element of an indoor puzzle solving as well. Good, it's bloody cold today.

Also is the drinking arena different from the 'main venue'-hopefully they'll indicate a good bar to drink at afterwards, like was done at Clapham, which can hold everyone who wants to meet everyone else without the desire to punch them in the face for stealing a perplex city point.

Not that I'm competitive or anything.

Yes, but the 'comedy' (and I use that word as loosely as possible) would be lost.

e.g Last Friday:

My Mate: We should charge that whale £4.90

Me: Don't worry it's got an oyster card

BOOM BOOM

Chris, MC have been on the ringer, they say that there is a drinking place, but any more of those jokes and you're not even invited.

Honest.

In seriousness, a pub for 200 people plus friends? Ambitious! I'm thinking we might have to wing this one.

It could get off at either Whale-thomstow or Fins-bury Park.

I'm here all week....try the veal.

But there will be the odd team who can't stick around for drinks-either under 18/need to get back home/just plain odd so I imagine you would only need a venue for 100ish people...only.

Hmmm. I'm almost looking forward to the after-party more than the actual event.

Almost.

I'm pretty sure that, that makes you an alcoholic. Wink

Having a hip-flask on your live-event equipment list makes you an alcoholic. Neutral

Seeing as how I'm not going to be able to make it to the live event or the bar afterwards (also known as a pub, in British-speak), someone's going to have to do my drinking for me while they're there. Someone's gotta represent for Spankit, after all. Now as you may already know, I go to UVA and am thus a Wahoo (so named after the fish which is said to be able to drink up to twice its weight in order to puff itself up for a fight). I weigh about 150 pounds. Good luck to you all.
