Well I'm carrying on there's 100 grand up for grabs oopps sorry I mean the retrival of a priceless artifact for another world!

I think all our contacts should be informed of this. Especially Kurt as he has been compromised in some way. Violet needs to keep an eye out to after going to that pyramid game.

I don't really think we can do much more until the live events, see what happens there. We may get a few clues here and there before then though.

Hi guys. On a whim, I loaded insert.mp3 into WaveLab and played around with pitch correction and EQ until I got something that sounded a little more "natural". It wasn't perfect, but it was easy enough to tell that the person speaking on insert.mp3 is NOT in the "V Featuring Monica" recording. Just thought I'd drop that in there...

This is getting seriously freaky. That recording was horrible.

What kind of a sick sadist fuck is this guy? I recon V could be Cyrus on the phone and he's bugged the assasin. The spraying sound is probably him rigging that key with the message we were supposed to find and then melting it with some form of blow torch. This is all just conjecture.

Having just listened to the recording I can honestly say that it is one of the most disturbing things I've heard in a long while. However, it does open up a number of questions. There was obviously a struggle between Monica and her assilent and yet we know of no DNA evidence being found by the Police? (One would think they would check under fingernails etc for forensic trace?)

Also, who was the man at the other end of the telephone. It sounds like someone watching the building and relaying information of the impending arrival of Mrs Salk? This may point to an inside job on the part of an employee at Ascendency Point? Another thing is that the caller tells V that 'She's entered the building' as if Silvia Salks arrival was expected? Finally, it seems to me that the existance of a clean-up crew either points to a much larger operation with specialist 'cleaners' or possibly something more official? We know that the influence of 3P goes to the heart of the power structure in Perplex City. Perhaps the council and Police are involved. (It may even be that Helena Frye is one of the good guys and is being set up to discredit her reputation and to stop her getting in people's way?)

They probably DID expect Sylvia Salk...Monica asked her to come, and if they were watching Monica (and I'm pretty sure they were--she knew something was up), then they knew. V just didn't get the job done fast enough for 'em to come in and clean it up afterward.

Given there are players' names attached to track_3 (why 3? Just cos of 3p?) along with a threatening sounding message (do you feel like you're being watched, etc) then I can't see how else we can intepret that than as a direct threat to us that we were intended to find. The fact that Cyrus left a password clue (purchasereq) in the file system is more evidence for that. In which case the insert was presumably intended to set us up, in which case Helena may be one of the good guys after all. Perhaps they wanted us to send someone along purely in order to distract the police and let the 3P get away. The evidence for Cyrus being V does look pretty strong. But then if he was arguing with someone at the Academy, perhaps his big boss *does* work at the academy... Meh.

But then, V didn't sound remotely apologetic or shy, which we've been told Cyrus was. Though I suppose that could just be an act.

My guess on that spraying sound - that neurotoxin Monica mentioned.

But, how cool to finally hear V's voice?!!!

The Games should definitely be interesting.

My take on the spray was that is was some sort of Mace or something that Monica was using in self defence. If it was some sort of neurotoxin then I would have thought it would have worked quicker than it appeared to have done. Also, the original Sentinel report said the murder was particularly brutal, which would indicate strangulation or blunt force trauma as opposed to simply being druged.

've just listened to the track...OMG i loved it....i kno that sounds sick, but it was so nicely done, the music (clockwork orange anyone), script and the quality of the *whispers* acting....most enjoyable!

of course MP3's are so last year....i want video clips next!

You can hear what happens to her. She gets slapped around a fair bit, it sounds like she might have been stabbed at some point, gets something (her arm?) broken and gets bludgeoned with something heavy-sounding. But it does sound like she's putting up a fight, too. The original Sentinel article also suggested that the assailant injured himself, but there's no mention of any tests done on Monica for forensic evidence. And she's been cremated and scattered in Rudon Forest now, too...

I think we should point Kurt and Violet in the direction of the files and see if they recognise the voice(s). It could be a start.

Oh, and anyone going to the Games? Be careful...

You freak, sotonrich I agree, it was very nicely done. Scared the shit out of my girlfriend though, she won't let me listen to it when she's in the room!

Anyone know what the music is? It may or may not be relevant, you never know in this game...
