Hey everyone! I'm back!

So that funky puzzle thing's been really bugging me. Couldn't make heads nor tails of the "steilt" word…kept thinking it had to be some foreign language, but I took swahili in college so I'm of no help here.

I noticed on the VIDI page that the linked letters spelled out "silence." Went to babelfish for some random translations of silence starting first with german then with dutch. The dutch translation of silence is "stilte."

And Eureka! http://vidi.atspace.com/stilte.html

Ok, I just checked to see if that new image is stegged, and with my small knowledge of such things, it isn't. Also looked for memories.jpg through memories5.jpg, just to see if I could find another image, but was unsuccessful.

this has bugged me for a while. The picture on the kunstmatig page is named "Iknownotomorrow." Sounds like a riddle to me...any thoughts?

I looked up "I know no tomorrow" and all I got was the lyrics to a Courtney Love song.

Just looking around on the web trying to research some of the things that seem to be hanging out there.
Veritas was the Roman goddess of truth. According to Hesiod's Theogeny, she was devoured by her father, Saturn.

Probably irrelevant as we seem to be concentrating on Norse mythos, but out there for you to ponder. Then again, Carmenta was a Roman goddesss and the story of the sirens was Greek.

Sandra has updated...with some help

Quote:
Hi everyone,

Sorry for the lengthy delay. I've been busy for the past few days.

I went out drinking with some friends on Friday evening. It was fun I guess, but it's just not the same without William. Nothing is.

There are no leads whatsoever. It's almost like he disappeared off the face of the earth.

I tried to get my hands on that article, but breaking into his apartment while he's missing doesn't seem very smart. Maybe you can order back issues from somewhere. The publication is called The Clandestine Times.

I have to get started on my homework so I can't investigate Clandestine...

you have got to be kidding me. I swear i tried that...then i looked around for like an hour until i couldn't take it anymore!!

i notice on the error pages that come on the subscribe page there's another rune.

EDIT: QUick note on the rune...stands for "Yew"

The yew tree is an ancient wisdom keeper and the gateway to the otherworld. Because of this it is known as the shaman rune (representing the ability of the shaman to control/mould the unshaped energy of the otherworld) standing for motivation and transformation.

rune

The picture itself's name is Balder which is the son of Odin and Freya and husband of Nanna, and the best, wisest, and most loved of all the gods. He was killed, at Loki's instigation, by a twig of mistletoe shot by the blind god Hodur.

If you look on the home page there is a link to the a news article on Space.com. I don't know if anyone else finds this sort of funny because of the whole mumSPLATspace.com thing we went through with the audio clip.

On the error page at the clandestine times site, the header image has a different alt text than the rest of the pages. The alt text reads "PRISM International". I googled them and found what I believe is an OG site. However, one interesting thing to note is that it has the SAME EXACT look as the clandestine times. Prism is a real magazine located in Canada. Not sure if this means anything.

I can verify that it wasn't up for some time after Jaded's post. It's not the first time this has happened and it's really annoying.

I DO NOT LIKE:
1) To spend a significant amount of time trying to find a resource based on the available clues only to see it magically appear, later.
2) Having my game experience corrupted by such avoidable mishaps. If the site we find was supposed to exist prior to the clue delivery, it should be there. When it's not, and pops up later, it's a glaring reminder that this IS a game and my suspension of disbelief is nothing more than an overt act of will.

Hey all,

I did this thing, but I'm going to have to call it quits for the reasons stated here. I'll post it here:

Ahoy,

Sorry all, I'm going to have to call it quits. I had essentially the entire game planned out on my computer, but it's been whiped clean. I lost everything game-related, so it ends here.

Thanks to the few people that played along! I had been writing the story for this since the summer so it's pretty sad to be losing it all so soon. But I'm glad my weirdness at least pulled a few people in. Thanks again!

If you have anything to ask, you can do so via comment if you want.

Again, sorry!

Sorry about that.

It was fun to work on, my first attempt, and probably my last. Sorry about the overall shoddiness. It's hard to make a convincing game with $0. And sorry about that, Rogi and hyexistenz. The site was up since Sunday, was working fine for me, so it must have been some free webhosting madness. I notice it goes down for a little while after I update it sometimes.

And logic_phyber, that was my mistake. I shot the people at Prism an e-mail asking if I could borrow their template and they didn't have a problem with it. I read that publication every once in a while and it was the first design that came to my mind when I was thinking of one for a small zine.

Anyway, sorry it had to end so soon. It was just getting started, too. I have it all written out in short story form if anyone wants me to type it up someday.

And that's about it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

Man... Now I feel bad for my previous post.

But hey... You know what they say:

"DooDoo occurs"

It was fun while it lasted.
Lots of good research.
Maybe we'll see something like it in the future?

Curious about two things:
The graphic you used for the astronomical clock. Did you draw it?
Was the text "Odin is Dead"?

Thanks a bunch!

I'd be more than happy to do something like it again, though I'm not completely sure. I'd like to put some money behind the next one, so I don't have to use free hosting and whatnot. It took an extremely long time to put together, so maybe I can get a team together to help things roll along more smoothly for whatever I do not, if anything.

As for the clock, I'm not really sure where it came from. I merely asked a friend if he could find me a picture of one of those "cool old clocks," and he provided it. It was probably someone else's work, and for that I feel bad, but I liked the design. I thought it fit in with the time/"beginning of the cycle" concept.

And yes, the image said "Odin is dead." It was in reference to the "Disciples of Woden," a secret society which would have played a fairly large part in the game's conclusion.
