NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

awwww, this is so sucky. I was in LOOOVE with this game!!! Crying or Very sad

You must do more games like this!! It was wonderful.

EDIT: And please please please don't think I thought the game was "shoddy." I absolutely enjoyed it, and was practically salivating at the mouth for any but of information.

OH NOES!!!

I was really enjoying it also and I am sorry to see it end like this. I really did like it espicially because some of the puzzles were interesting like the audio clip from the answering machine, literary quotes that turn into pages etc.

You had me watching for website changes, changes in my email inbox, and buddy list for AIM at all times. It was a fun game.

Oh, for sad.

I seem to curse args that interest me. Sad This is the 3rd arg in the row that died that I was interested in.

It was really fun, even if you didn't spend money on it. I wouldn't mind a no cost arg again. Smile

You're preaching to the choir. Every ARG that I've completed, except one, melted down. Renata Island, Triskabiblios, What is the secret (you're dead to me!) and now whatisthesilence. Confused EDIT: I knew I forgot one, U-N Owen

Anyway, it's a real shame that this had to come to this. I really wish that you would have put us on hold rather than ending it now. That's what I'd do, anyway, it's your choice, and I really enjoyed it. I hope you do more, two thumbs up.

Then comes the silence....

Thanks a lot. I'm thinking about it...maybe I'll do something near summer. Smile.

I just wish I didn't have to use free hosting for everything. I was scared people would drop out as the game progressed, because a majority of the sites would have ended in .atspace.com, haha. Hopefully next time around I'll be able to get some good hosting.

Oh, and Ada or Ardor did have some influence on the story, though I'm not sure the Galactic Centuria Library had much Nabokov in their Imported Books section. Smile. But I've definitely read it. Fantastic read! The name of the project where they made first contact with Terra, in the game, was called the "Ardis Project"; named for Ardis Hall.

Thanks! Smile

Yeah, I feel really bad, honestly. They've been dropping like flies this year, and I was pretty happy with mine because I had it all planned out and was almost certain it wasn't going to implode. In the end it didn't, really, but as Rogi said back there, "doodoo occurs." My computer's such a jerk!

I was debating that, but I would have had to start from scratch and I'm afraid it wouldn't have been very good. On top of that, it would have been very time consuming to have to put together all the images, puzzles, and websites again. The final product probably would not have been up to everyone's standards, and delivering a sub-par game is something I did not want to do. While what got done and what I originally intended were by no means masterpieces, I believe they were significantly better than anything that would have materialised had I tried to give it another shot. Games are a service, and when you provide a service it has to be satisfactory to the receiving party. A quickly pieced together game would definitely have been less than satisfactory and the last thing I want to do is disappoint my audience.

But thanks for sticking around! Very Happy

Indeed they did, but some disinformation agents were going to find his body in Lincoln County, Nevada and have him cremated by a non-existant aunt.

He was really, of course, being interrogated by a friendly little government-sponsored cult. Wink

Anyhow, I apologise again for the unfortunate end, and I'm sorry if I disappointed anyone. Maybe I'll give it another go in the coming months.

If anyone has any plot-related questions or anything, feel free to ask. Smile.

Oh, I understand about computer problems. I work in tech support and I'm a cs student. I'm not mad at you.

Please, don't worry about having free hosting of your sites and such. Your arg is proof that you don't need to spend money to make a fun arg. It was clever and creative. I look forward to more from you.

In fact, you may have inspired me to create something someday. I never really thought of it until this.

Heh, look, I'm sorry to be replying on this so late... Ehh....

But I just wanted to let you know that I really was enjoying this... even though, I know, I really didn't do much around here -- I was following eagerly, though. I just was kinda held up by a lot of crazy things. *sigh* Anyway! I just saw it as my duty to tell you how much I was enjoying this, and how very sorry I am about The Great Computer Crash of 2006. Razz

Honestly, I have terrible luck with computers. December 2003, my harddrive died just before I had finals and a history paper due. Summer of '04, my laptop got stolen. (lost most everything on that, not to mention having to buy a new laptop). Harddrive crashed again sometime this autumn.

Grr.

Anyway, thank you for what we had. Smile

All m'love,
~Mossy

PS- and yes, like several of you I'll be involved in Pirate Shrubbery a bit more now... avast, and all that. Wink

yah...I'm considering doing an ARG in a year or so...and now I know I can (or at least try) to pull something off that's great without spending money...I'm pretty sure I could use it for a school project....do a write up or soemthing, the internet and a social community...

*ponders*

Kinda funny...when I started a couple weeks ago...I was debating between HYP3RN3XUS and this because I was satrting to mix up the story lines and clues...but I decided on this...

Happy choice...but short lived

I await your next ARG.

And I think I speak for all

Three Cheers for a first attempt!

Very Happy Very good answer, I was a bit skeptical about it, but I see that you only had the player's interests at heart. Have you ever considered politics? You could explain away Bill Clinton

And I do have a plot question, what role was Sandy going to play? And what was this site that she was creating?

Sandy was going to be your "leader", I guess, and William's love interest. They had always been good friends, but his sudden disappearance helped her to realise the feelings she would probably have denied beforehand.

She also had some previous contact with Tristram, so as you pieced together the story, she would begin to make connections and give you some input on what was going on.

The site she was going to put up was a "Find William"-type site, and there would have been a few curious tips. One of them was going to be from a woman from Nevada, who saw him stumbling down the highway somewhere in Lincoln County. Lincoln County, Nevada is also the location of Area 51.
