what did your email to her say, rusty?

i just emailed her with this, "who is this? where are you and why is it so cramped?"

and received this:

"carmenta
im dmgd
in pieces"

hmmm...they're leaving out vowels for some reason and the messages are getting more and more cryptic; more scattered.

ediiiiiiit===================>

found a carmenta wiki. basically carmenta was the roman goddess of, "childbirth and prophecy, associated with technological innovation as well as the protection of mothers and children, and a patron of midwives." seems fitting. also just noticed that the only letters being left out are a's and e's:

crAmped
littlE
deAd
dAmAgEd (i'm not sure if dmgd = damaged...but it looks right)

2nd edit----------------

just googled "carmenta pieces" and came across a site detailing some pretty disturbing abortion practices used by ancient romans. it probably has no relevance, but here it is anyways.

if you have a weak stomach, i suggest you don't read about the full term abortions...it actually made me sick.

Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing

April is the cruelest month, breeding
In the mountains, there you feel free
Memory and desire, stirring
Looking into the heart of light, the silence

just got an unprovoked email from dr. caulfield:

Quote:

And when we were children, staying at the archduke's
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
In the mountains, there you feel free

Looking into the heart of light, the silence

this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me...it's like a bunch of random thoughts thrown together. is the silence love? thats the feeling i get from the poem anyways...at least from the last 3hree lines.

edit---

just found out that the symbolic meaning of lilac is "first love"

First three lines of "The Burial of the Dead" from The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot. They look to be lines from that poem.

^^^^^indeed!

just googled t.s. eliot's "the waste land" and those lines are indeed the first 3hree lines in his poem. there are also other lines scattered throughout his poem- it looks as if this email was comprised of random lines from the waste land...though i am unsure if thats where the whole thing came from. it is late, and i don't think i could read it all right now. little help?

The lines are:
85
24
13
2
17
14
1
17
3
41

Looks like a code, since line 17 was repeated.

Well, I tried turning them straight into letters (a=1 b=2 a=27 b=27 etc) and that got me 'gxmbqnaqco'. Tried ROTing it. No luck. Back to the draqing board.

replies!

Ok I got the ones that everyone else did. The weird poem with parts from The Wasteland and also prior to that I got

"it hrts you knoww
so crampd in here"

Anyways so I emailed after the poem thing asking "Are you stuck in the wasteland?"

And I just got back:

"im stuck
luck will sing you a song"

And I replied again with "How can we help you get unstuck?"

Just sent it so nothing yet. Smile

Hmm, I just got the same "luck" e-mail(s).

My first thought was to Google "the silence is pitiful," using the "I'm Feeling Lucky" option. I did, and it brought me to the lyrics of a song:

http://www.christianrocklyrics.com/blindside/pitiful.php

A song called Pitiful on an album called Silence by a band called Blindside.

It's a song, so I guess it sorta fits into the "luck will sing you a song" thing.

I don't have enough time to see if the numbers correspond with any words/letters, but could anyone else give it a try? I have to go and I'm not even sure you'll find anything, but I figure it's worth a shot.

Peace.

Sad Why-o-why does this launch have to happen while I'm gone? Even worse, while I'll be gone for 6+ hours after it launches...*cries*

*And then I notice the 24 days....jeez....*

Just got this email (did everybody get this?)

Quote:
Rep. Log -- 02172006 -- 77%

<!ann>

Dmg to core system reduced. 7 days expected for full recovery.

12 days since passing through the Bridge. VERITAS' defenses forced me into a Corner. !attach+rep operations began 9 days ago.

Infiltrated and escaped VERITAS' data storage. Due to the dmg incurred most of it remains raw. !recyc+reassmb operations began 2 days ago. One .RVX converted to .JPG. Currently in storage in the Corner.

<~!ann>

Is someone reading this?

EDIT: I just noticed that http://www.veritas.com/ leads to a Sympactico site....sponser, perhaps?

A search for "silence" gives me: http://www.veritas.com/search/VSearchResults.jsp?q=Silence&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&submit=search
neither looks promising

hmmmm...the "C" in "Corner" is capitalized.

maybe we're looking for a pic in a place (site) called the corner?
