Okay, this is what I have...

Hey guys. I ran into this topic after following the whole ILB2 thing. Anyways, this is what I've found...

When you view the source for the Login screen you get some German:

[quote=Ilovebees2 Login page]Bei SIZE können Sie die Größe des Feldes ändern[/quote]
Which, ran through Babelfish, reads: "With SIZE you can change the size of the field." I also found that viewing the source code for the Status screen brings up a nice ASCII image of "ACCESS DENIED"

Yeah. So I don't know if anyone already knows about this stuff, but there it is, just in case.[/url][/code]

Can you provide a link to where you found the german? I tried viewing source again on login.html, but I can't find any german anywhere.

The sound has changed as well. Now a heartbeat that slows down over time plays for a few seconds before looping.

EDIT: Just discovered that the password you enter doesn't actually get sent to the server (it has no name attribute). If this were an ARG, I'd say there was another way we're supposed to send the password.

Yes, clues that are surfacing seem to indicate that the "a-CC-ess" to the database has been disabled. The message in the ASCII art on 3/2 seems to indicate we should "contact" "webmaster@"

When I did that (see my post above) I got a response asking for the password. If this is for real, I think that is how you have to access it now.

I have tried to reconnect by sending follow up messages, but I am getting no responses. I even tried a couple of attempts at sending passwords based on the clues given in the thread, but again, no reply.

Well I'm using Firefox, but I don't know if that would make a difference or not. Anyways, I found the German on login.html. The line says:

document.write("<INPUT TYPE=\"TEXT\" NAME=\"tickfield\" SIZE=\"80\">"); // Bei SIZE können Sie die Größe des Feldes ändern

My first thought was that because this is all Microsoft related, it should be webmasterSPLATmicrosoft.com or webmasterSPLAThotmail.com, but that wouldn't make sense, that name has probably already been taken. Maybe webmasterSPLATilovebees2.com?

@ n8: Viewing the source in another browser should make no difference as to its contents.

Not playing this one, but that's standard commenting for javascript ... someone earlier in the thread said that the webmaster was using canned scripts, and that would be pretty indicative of a script pulled from a canned site, which would instruct anyone downloading the script as to what they could change for what effect.

(The javascript SHOULD have executed -- in other words, done the document.write -- and not shown that line, also -- so that may be the difference between Firefox and IE/Netscape.)

I found something that caught my eye. I am going to try and contact the webmaster.

And yeah, the german is in a Javascript comment.

I think either the "a" or the "the" wasn't supposed to be there. It's just a typo.

Here is what I said on another site:

"1. You can view the source code of gdform.asp (the "login" handler) by going to http://www.ilovebees2.com/welcome.html and viewing the source code, if any ASP programers are reading this, you will see how the login handler works. Also look at the source code of http://www.ilovebees2.com/test.html and if you wait long enough, you will see T+ and if you click it, it will go to http://www.ilovebees2.com/coundtown.html.

2. Heh, I just noticed that next to the timer, there is a T-, do you think it has anything to do with the T+ that I wrote about in my last comment?

3. Wow, I am more interested than this than I was earlier today. But ="iUSERNAME&PWl17[trj33t]1li+"%%+l[rccCC2&ozzcj37" is in it, and if you put ?="iUSERNAME&PWl17[trj33t]1li+"%%+l[rccCC2&ozzcj37" after a URL, it will accept it as a command, thus logging in somehow.

4. I think I'm done with this for tonight Smile . But, by viewing the ASP code, I think whatever you type in, it will ALWAYS go to the same page, the homepage or by changing the redirect URL in the URL, you can have it go to Joystiq, Google or wherever you want it to go. Thus, there is no password. Now, if there are any ASP programers reading this, I want you to look at the source code of http://www.ilovebees2.com/welcome.html and tell me if I am wrong because I only program PHP and not ASP Smile .
5. OMG...Someone already got the domain name www.ilovebees3.com from GoDaddy!

6. On that test.html page I wrote about, it says in the source code that he/she was born on 07/30/1974 (MM/DD/YYYY).

7. Nubaeus, the images where made in Adobe PhotoShop 3.0 which adds links in the source, thus, those links have NOTHING to do with this, I have looked in the source but found nothing. (He/she said "If you take the link of the "5". (http://www.ilovebees.com/5.jpg) and view the page source, there are a few links within it.??Here's one that I have no clue what to make of it.??http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#")

8. Probot! That's it! By resizing the window on the error page, you can make the timer speed up and go down faster! Try it! (He/she said "In the login.html source, there is a comment in German:?Bei SIZE können Sie die Größe des Feldes ändern??Which, accorinding to babelfish, translates to:??With SIZE you can change the size of the field??So, I'm guessing the maker of this is German.")

9. But Bei SIZE können Sie die Größe des Feldes ändern means by changing the SIZE part in the JavaScript it will change the size of the scrolling message thing, which means Bei SIZE können Sie die Größe des Feldes ändern has nothing to do with the game but gave me that idea!"

And RE: The Drunk Monkey:
"The login script supports both GET and POST requisitions. And the password field DOES have a name attribute, "password" Smile "

Appears to be no actual way to log in. Also writes login attempts to a unique file in the directory ssfm. Don't take my word for it - I'm not an ASP programmer.

You're right, although I figured that out before. Smile

Wrong. Size is an attribute of the HTML input tag. By adjusting the size of the text input field, you can fit more into the tickertape thing.

This is the line where the password is supposed to be inputted:

Code:
<input type="text" align="top" maxlength="25" size="40">

As you can see, it has no name attribute.

About 8, yeah, I know, I am a (beginner) programer, I was thinking that German thing meant resize the window and it will change the timer and look at 9 which explains that. About the RE thing: on my computer, I see
Code:
<p>Password<input type="text" name="Password" /></p>
and it has a name input tag.

hey, on the journal page...I just listened to the sound again, and it struck me as being very similar to some of the random noises you would often hear in ILB1, like at the beginning and ends of each chapter.
